Temagami North
Temagami North, formerly known as Goward, is an unincorporated community comprising part of the municipality of Temagami in Nipissing District, Ontario, Canada. It is a residential subdivision centred around Spruce Drive, about 5 kilometres north of Temagami itself. Temagami North is locally known as the "Townsite" because it was created in the 1960s to supply Sherman Mine further south and as a new residential location away from the town of Temagami.
Net Lake
Net Lake is located within the municipality of Temagami, in the Nipissing District, Ontario, Canada. It covers a length of 10 km and is located in Temagami North. Fish in the lake include walleye, northern pike, trout, smallmouth bass, whitefish and panfish. There is only one lodge on Net Lake, which is called Andorra Lodge. Johnny Creek, a 4 km long creek between Temagami and Temagami North, drains into Boot Bay of Net Lake.
Temagami greenstone belt
The Temagami greenstone belt, also known as the Temagami volcanic belt and the Temagami metavolcanic belt, is a small 2.7 billion year old greenstone belt in the Temagami region of Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It represents a feature of the Superior craton, an ancient and stable part of the Earth's lithosphere that forms the core of the North American continent and Canadian Shield. The belt is composed of metamorphosed volcanic rocks that range in composition from basalt to rhyolite.
Chambers-Strathy Batholith
The Chambers-Strathy Batholith, also called the Strathy-Chambers Batholith, is a large granitoid batholith complex in the Temagami region of Northeastern Ontario, Canada. Named for the Chambers and Strathy townships, its compositions range from pink to grey quartz monzonite to granodiorite and intrudes through rocks of the Temagami greenstone belt.
Owaissa, Temagami
Owaissa is an area in the municipality of Temagami, Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is located just east of the Ontario Northland Railway on the northern arm of Net Lake about 3 km north of Temagami North. Owaissa is the locality of the historic Owaissa Sawmill. In 1954, an Ontario Northland Railway passing track was constructed at Milage 86, making the short passing track at Owaissa redundant.
