York, Ontario
York is a district and a former municipality in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with a population of 143,255 (2006 census). Geographically, it is located northwest of Old Toronto, southwest of North York and east of Etobicoke, where it is bounded by the Humber River. Formerly a separate city, it was one of six municipalities that amalgamated in 1998 to form the current city of Toronto.
York Civic Centre
The York Civic Centre housed the municipal government of the former city of York, Ontario, now part of the city of Toronto. It is located at 2700 Eglinton Avenue West in the neighbourhood of Beechborough-Greenbrook. Formerly home to the City of York Council, the building now houses Toronto West Court Office.
