Summerhill (TTC)
Summerhill is a station on the Yonge–University–Spadina line of the subway system in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Its address is 1189 Yonge Street, with the entrance actually being on Shaftesbury Avenue, which is at the north end of the station platforms. The station was opened in 1954 as part of the original Yonge line. Like Rosedale Station, the next station to the south, it is currently among the less used stations, with only average weekday ridership.
Summerhill, Toronto
The Summerhill neighbourhood in central Toronto was named after 'Summer Hill' house, built in 1842 by Canadian transportation baron Charles Thompson. Much of the area was once part of the Thompson estate but was subdivided by his heirs in the 1880s. In the 1880s, the North Toronto Railway Station was established on Yonge Street and the neighbourhood of Summerhill quickly developed around it. The Railway station was rebuilt in honour of a visit by the Prince of Wales in 1916.

The Toronto LTC also played host to the first Davis Cup tie played in Canada, in July 1921.

Catholic Missions in Canada
