Thomas Edison Depot Museum
The Thomas Edison Depot Museum is located underneath the Blue Water Bridge connecting Port Huron, Michigan to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. The depot is owned and operated by the Port Huron Museum and is the actual depot that inventor Thomas Edison worked out of as a news butcher between 1859 and 1863. The museum includes a restored baggage car resting on a short spur of railroad track.

Fort St. Joseph (Port Huron)
A short lived French fort established in 1686 by Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Lhut. Its heyday was in 1687 when about two hundred coureurs de bois, about five hundred Algonquian, Henri de Tonti, Nicholas Perrot, Oliver Morel de La Durantaye, and thirty French soldiers gathered there under Marquis de Denonville's orders to prepare for an attack on the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy during the Iroquois Wars.
1953 Sarnia tornado
A powerful tornado struck the city of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, on the afternoon of May 21, 1953. One of many violent tornadoes during this exceedingly active and deadly season, this tornado touched down just before 4:30pm near Smiths Creek, Michigan (approximately ten miles southwest of Port Huron). It moved steadily towards the east-northeast at 35 mph, where it devastated the southern edge of Port Huron some twenty minutes later (Grazulis, 1990) resulting in widespread F3 and F4 damage.
