The Heron Road Bridge is a bridge in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It connects Baseline Road and Heron Road passing over both the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal just south of Carleton University. The bridge was built in 1966, and its construction saw one of the worst accidents in Ottawa history.

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine is a prominent Ukrainian Catholic church in Ottawa, Canada. The only Ukrainian Catholic parish in the Ottawa region, the St. John the Baptist parish first formed in 1914. After meeting in other parishes' churches for some years, in 1918 the parish purchased a building to the west of downtown and converted it into a church. In 1966 it moved into a temporary building on Carling Avenue.

Carlington is a residential neighbourhood in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It had a population of 12,585 in 2001, which dropped to 10,107 in 2006. The neighbourhood is bordered by: Clyde Avenue to the west. Carling Avenue and the Queensway to the north. Fisher Avenue to the east. Central Experimental Farm to the south. Carlington contains less than 435 older pre-1945 homes, primarily along Fisher Avenue. Some 2000 dwellings were built from 1945 to 1960.
