Blackburn Hamlet

Blackburn Hamlet is a community in eastern Ontario, Canada in the city of Ottawa. It is considered an outer-suburb of Ottawa, and before the 2001 amalgamation of the city of Ottawa, it was in the city of Gloucester. It is still a partially rural area, but with several older and newer areas of settlement. Population (2006): 8,527.

The Greenbelt is a 203.5 square kilometres crescent of land within the present-day boundaries of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (now 2,796.4 km. ) in which real estate development is strictly controlled. It begins at Shirleys Bay in the west and extends to Green's Creek in the east. 149.5 square kilometres of the greenbelt is owned and managed by the National Capital Commission (NCC) and the rest is held by other federal government departments and private interests.

Chapel Hill is a community in eastern Ontario, Canada in the city of Ottawa. It is considered an outer-suburb of Ottawa, and before the 2001 amalgamation of the city of Ottawa, it was part of the former City of Gloucester. Chapel Hill is a suburban area consisting of mostly single family homes situated next to the National Capital Commission (NCC) Greenbelt and surrounding rural areas. École secondaire publique Louis-Riel (Louis Riel Public Secondary School) is a high school in the Blackburn Hamlet neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, part of the Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (Eastern Ontario Public School Board). It opened in the fall of 1980, and the name Louis Riel was chosen by the students in 1981. Phase 1 of the school's construction finished in 1980, accommodating 250 students from the Gloucester region in the east end of Ottawa.

Innes Ward

Innes (Ward 2) is a city ward in the city of Ottawa, Canada. It includes the community of Blackburn Hamlet as well as the neighbourhoods of Orléans Village, Chateau Neuf and Chapel Hill in Orléans. It also includes the part of the community of Notre Dame des Champs formerly in the city of Gloucester. The ward is represented on Ottawa City Council by Rainer Bloess. The ward was created when the city of Gloucester was amalgamated into the new city of Ottawa.

Green's Creek

Green's Creek {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:45|28|00|N|75|34|35|W| | |name= }} is a small tributary of the Ottawa River that flows through the community of Gloucester in eastern Ottawa. It has cut deeply into sediments of the Champlain sea, producing a complex mixture of forest types, from upland oak and pine to floodplain forest. As a consequence there are nearly 500 species of plants known from the area.
