Canso Causeway
The Canso Causeway {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:45|38|38|N|61|25|11|W| |primary |name= }} is a 1,385 m rock-fill causeway in Nova Scotia, Canada. The causeway crosses the Strait of Canso, connecting Cape Breton Island by road to the Nova Scotia peninsula.

A causeway is a road or railway route across a broad body of water or wetland raised up on an embankment. Some causeways may only be usable at low tide and the distinction between causeways and viaducts can become blurred when flood-relief culverts are incorporated in the structure; a causeway is however primarily supported on earth or stone, whereas a bridge or viaduct is mainly supported by free-standing columns or arches.
Cape Breton and Central Nova Scotia Railway
The Cape Breton and Central Nova Scotia Railway operates of railroad from Truro to Sydney in central Nova Scotia. The main route and related industrial branches were previously owned by the Canadian National Railway. The railroad began operations in 1994 after the route was purchased in October 1993 by the CBNS's parent shortline railroad holding company, RailTex.
