Mackenzie, British Columbia
Mackenzie is a District Municipality within the Fraser-Fort George Regional District in central British Columbia, Canada. The community is located at the south end of Williston Lake. The townsite, established by Alexandra Forest Industries (acquired by BC Forest Products in 1967) and Cattermole Timber (partnered with Jujo Paper in 1970 to create Finlay Forest Industries), was named for Sir Alexander MacKenzie (1764–1820). Mackenzie's main industries are logging, lumber, market pulp and tourism.
Mackenzie Secondary School
Mackenzie Secondary is a public high school in Mackenzie, British Columbia part of School District 57 Prince George. It is the only high school in the town of Mackenzie. The school opened in 1970. As of March 2010, the school has 240 students in grades 8–12.
Little Mac Ski Hill
Little Mac Ski Hill, known as Little Mac, is a community-operated ski area adjacent to Mackenzie, British Columbia, Canada in the northern Rocky Mountain Trench. The area has one tow lift and vertical differential of 90 m (295 ft). The longest run is 210 m (689 ft). In addition to downhill skiing, the hill also has areas for tobogganing and snowboarding. Little Mac Ski Hill is funded by the District of Mackenzie and is maintained threw the municipality of Mackenzie.
