Freewill Shakespeare Festival
The Freewill Shakespeare Festival, formerly known as the River City Shakespeare Festival was founded in 1989. It is produced by the Edmonton, Alberta-based "Free Will Players" every summer from late June to mid July. The Festival includes full-scale professional productions of two plays by William Shakespeare, as well as Camp Shakespeare - a summer drama camp for youth ages 8–16. All Festival activities take place in the 1,000-seat Heritage Amphitheater in Edmonton's beautiful Hawrelak Park.

Edmonton Valley Zoo
The Edmonton Valley Zoo is a zoo located in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta's river valley. The Edmonton Valley Zoo is owned and operated by the City of Edmonton and is open 364 days a year, only closing on Christmas. The zoo is currently accredited by the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is one of three accredited zoos in Alberta. Whitemud Creek
Whitemud Creek is a tributary of the North Saskatchewan River in central Alberta, Canada. For part of its length, the creek flows through the city of Edmonton, separating neighbourhoods in the Riverbend and Terwillegar areas from other neighbourhoods on the south side of the North Saskatchewan River. Neighbourhoods overlooking the Whitemud Creek tend to be more affluent. The creek splits off into Blackmud Creek in the neighbourhood of Twin Brooks.

The Heritage Amphitheatre in Edmonton is western Canada’s largest outdoor amphitheatre. It has seating for 1100 people and up to 2900 people with the surrounding area. Each year approximately 50,000 people visit it to enjoy musical, dramatic, and other performances in Edmonton's pleasant summer months. It is located in Hawrelak Park in Edmonton.
