Hainaut (province)
Hainaut is a province of Wallonia, one of the three regions of Belgium. It borders (clockwise from the North) in Belgium on the provinces of West Flanders, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant and those of Walloon Brabant and Namur, and on France. It has an area of 3,800 km² which is divided into seven administrative districts containing 69 municipalities. Its capital is Mons.
Battle of Jemappes
The Battle of Jemappes (6 November 1792) took place near the town of Jemappes in Hainaut, Belgium, near Mons during the War of the First Coalition, part of the French Revolutionary Wars. One of the first major offensive battles of the war, it was a victory for the armies of the infant French Republic, and saw the French Armée du Nord, which included a large number of inexperienced volunteers, defeat a substantially smaller regular Austrian army.
Jemappes
Jemappes is a Walloon town in south-western Belgium, province Hainaut. Since 1976, it is part of the city Mons. Jemappes is known for the Battle of Jemappes between the French and Austrian armies in 1792. During the French occupation of Belgium (1792–1814), there was a département named after the Battle of Jemappes, see Jemmape. Jemappes was also a battleground in the First World War.
Jemmape (department)
Jemmape is the name of a département of the First French Empire in present Belgium. It was named after the Battle of Jemappes, fought between the French and the Austrians in 1792 near the village Jemappes, near Mons. Jemappes was spelled Jemmape, Jemmapes or Jemmappes at the time. Its territory corresponds more or less with that of the Belgian province Hainaut. Its capital was Mons. The département came into existence in 1795, when the Southern Netherlands were occupied by the French.
Borinage
The Borinage is an area in the Walloon province of Hainaut. The provincial capital Mons is located in the east of the Borinage. In French the inhabitants are called Borains. But there was a great sociological difference between Mons and the Borains of all the villages around Mons.
Dour Festival
Dour Festival is an annual music festival in the municipality of Dour, Belgium. Since its creation in 1989, the festival has grown to an attendance of about 144,000 in 2008 (over 4 days). The first year, only five bands were programmed. The festival format now consists of 4 days, 6 stages and 200 bands and DJ's. The festival's acts come from a wide range of genres, such as: electro, rock, drum and bass, pop, R&B, reggae, house, punk, hardcore, metal, hip-hop, indie, techno and more.

Ateliers de Construction du Nord de la France was a French locomotive manufacturer, based at Crespin in the Arrondissement of Valenciennes, northern France. Later known as ANF Industrie or ANF the company was acquired by Bombardier Transportation in 1989 and is now part of Bombardier Transport France S.A.S.
Grand Hornu
Grand-Hornu is an old industrial mining complex in Hornu in the municipality of Boussu, Belgium. It was built by Henri De Gorge between 1810 and 1830. It is a unique example of functional town-planning. Today it is owned by the province of Hainaut, which houses temporary exhibitions in the buildings. As one of four Major Mining Sites of Wallonia, UNESCO designated it a World Heritage Site in 2012

Saint-Ghislain Airport
Saint-Ghislain Airport (in French, Aérodrome de Saint-Ghislain) is a small airfield located in Saint-Ghislain, province of Hainaut, Belgium. Privately managed, the airport is home to an active flight school (Aéroclub du Borinage), but also to other aeronautical oriented leisure activities, such as old aircraft restoration, or amateur aircraft building. A modernization of the airport was completed in 1992, including a hard-surfacing of the single runway.
Boussu Dour Borinage
Royal Boussu Dour Borinage is a Belgian association football club based in Boussu in the province of Hainaut. They have been playing in the Belgian Second Division since 2009–10. R. Boussu Dour Borinage were formerly known as Royal Francs Borains up until the start of the 2008–09 season. They play their home games at the Stade Robert Urbain, formerly known as Stade Vedette in Boussu. Their highest league ranking was a 5th place in the second division in 2009–10.
Ormeignies
The village of Ormeignies has an ancient history. Farmers in Neolithic time were settled there, as far back as 4000 BC. The village church, dedicated to Saint Ursmer and built from stone and brick c.1780, is a good example of neo-classical architecture.

Mons. Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Mons, Belgium. Mons. Arena holds 3,700 people. It hosts the home games of Dexia Mons-Hainaut basketball club.
Château de Belœil
The Château de Belœil or Château of Belœil is a château situated in the municipality of Belœil in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Since the 14th century it has been the residence of the Prince de Ligne. The château lies in the middle of a magnificent Baroque garden designed in 1664. The château and gardens can be visited during spring and summer.

Chièvres Air Base
Chièvres Air Base is a United States Air Force airfield located in the Belgian town of Chièvres and about 12 miles from Headquarters, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), in Casteau. It is mainly used to provide logistic support to NATO and SHAPE. The station and support facilities are operated by the United States Army Garrison Benelux.
Dupont Brewery
Dupont Brewery is a brewery located in Tourpes, in the centre of West-Hainaut, Belgium. The current brewery, founded in 1950, is located on a working farm which dates back to 1759 and has significant brewing history. In the 1990s, a bread bakery and cheese-making facility were added. Historically, their best-selling beer was the Moinette Blonde.
Montignies-sur-Roc
Montignies-sur-Roc is a village in the municipality Honnelles, in the Belgian province of Hainaut. The village is located amidst the "Parc naturel des Hauts-Pays". The village is located near the French border, along the river la Petite Honnelle. The village is home to the Brasserie de l'Abbaye des Rocs, a brewery where Abbaye des Rocs, Blanche de Honnelles, Montagnards and Altitude 6 are brewed.

Pairi Daiza is owned and operated by Pairi Daiza Belgium SA, a limited company listed on NYSE Alternext Brussels .
Cambron Abbey
Cambron Abbey is a former Cistercian abbey in Belgium, located in Cambron-Casteau in the municipality of Brugelette in Hainaut. It stands on the little River Blanche, a tributary of the Dendre, about 9 kilometres to the south-east of Ath. The site is now used as a zoo.
