Hainaut (province)
Hainaut is a province of Wallonia, one of the three regions of Belgium. It borders (clockwise from the North) in Belgium on the provinces of West Flanders, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant and those of Walloon Brabant and Namur, and on France. It has an area of 3,800 km² which is divided into seven administrative districts containing 69 municipalities. Its capital is Mons.
Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe
Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) is the central command of NATO military forces. It is located at Casteau, north of the Belgian city of Mons. From 1951, SHAPE was the headquarters of operational forces in the European theatre (Allied Command Europe, ACE), but since 2003 SHAPE has been the headquarters of Allied Command Operations (ACO) controlling all allied operations worldwide.
Battle of Mons
The Battle of Mons was the first major action of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) in the First World War. It was a subsidiary action of the Battle of the Frontiers, in which the Allies clashed with Germany on the French borders. At Mons, the British army attempted to hold the line of the Mons-Condé Canal against the advancing German First Army.
Ourthe (department)
Ourthe is the name of a département of the First French Empire in present day Germany and Belgium, at the time written as Ourte by French officials. It was named after the river Ourthe. Its territory corresponds more or less with that of the present day Belgian province Liège and a small adjacent region in North Rhine-Westphalia. The département was formed when the Southern Netherlands and the left bank of the Rhine were occupied by the French around 1795.

Mundaneum
The Mundaneum was an institution created in 1910, following an initiative begun in 1895 by Belgian lawyers Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, as part of their work on documentation science. It aimed to gather together all the world's knowledge and classify it according to a system they developed called the Universal Decimal Classification.
Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic
The Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT) was one of two supreme commanders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), the other being the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). The SACLANT led Allied Command Atlantic, based at Norfolk, Virginia. The entire command was routinely referred to as 'SACLANT'.
Faculté polytechnique de Mons
The Faculté Polytechnique de Mons (FPMs) is the oldest university of the city of Mons and the first Engineering school in Belgium (1837). Its first name was «École des Mines» (Mining School). It is a member of the TIME network (Top Industrial Managers for Europe), an association of 50 leading Engineering Schools and Faculties in Europe From January 1, 2009 the Engineering Faculty of Mons and the University of Mons-Hainaut fused in a new university simply called the University of Mons.

Casteau
Casteau is a village of Belgium in the French-speaking region. With the others villages Chaussée-Notre-Dame-Louvignies, Horrues, Naast, Neufvilles, Soignies (town), and Thieusies, they compose the municipality of Soignies. The village is located between the towns of Mons and Soignies on the road Mons-Brussel. The river Aubrecheuil flows through the village. In the past, there were some watermills along the river.
Obrecheuil
The Obrecheuil is a small river of Belgium, right tributary of the Haine. The spring is in the municipality of Le Rœulx. The river flows through the village of Thieusies, Casteau and St-Denis, to end her trip in the village of Obourg where the river meets the river Haine. The length of the river between the spring and the river Haine is about 20 km. Sometimes the river is named Aubrecheuil.

SHAPE American High School is a US Department of Defense Dependents high school (DoDDS) for grades 7-12 located at Casteau, a town north of the city of Mons in Belgium. SHAPE American High School provides education for the dependants of people associated with the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), a NATO military installation. SHAPE High School adheres to a typical United States curricular and extracurricular program.
Grand Large
The Grand Large is an artificial lake of Belgium, not far from the city of Mons. The lake is situated along the highway E19 between Paris and Brussels. Its marina can host 157 boats. The lake is linked to two canals: to the east, the Nimy-Blaton-Péronnes Canal, to the west the Canal du Centre.
