Walloon Brabant
Walloon Brabant is a province of Wallonia in Belgium. It borders on (clockwise from the North) the province of Flemish Brabant and the provinces of Liège, Namur and Hainaut. Its capital is Wavre. It has an area of 1,093 km² and contains only one administrative district, the Arrondissement of Nivelles, with 27 municipalities.
Walhain
Walhain is a Walloon municipality of Belgium located in the province of Walloon Brabant. It consists of the former municipalities of Nil-Saint-Vincent-Saint-Martin, Tourinnes-Saint-Lambert and Walhain-Saint-Paul. Walhain is locally famous because, although it is quite a little village, they have two successful national division sport teams. Firstly, they have a semi-professional football club, RFC Wallonia Walhain CG playing in the Promotion D, which is the 4th tier of Belgian football league.

The Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), is Belgium's largest French-speaking university. It is located in Louvain-la-Neuve, with satellite campuses in Brussels, Charleroi, Mons and Tournai. It split from the Catholic University of Leuven (founded in 1834 in Mechlin under the name of Catholic University of Mechlin), Belgium's oldest university, in 1968, while the Dutch half of the university remained in Leuven under the name Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Villers Abbey
Villers Abbey (abbaye de Villers) is an ancient Cistercian abbey located in the town of Villers-la-Ville in the Walloon Brabant province of Wallonia (Belgium), one piece of the Wallonia's Major Heritage. Founded in 1146, the abbey was abandoned in 1796. Most of the site has since fallen into ruins.

Battle of Wavre
The Battle of Wavre was the final major military action of the Hundred Days campaign and the Napoleonic Wars. It was fought on 18–19 June 1815 between the Prussian rearguard under the command of General Johann von Thielmann and three corps of the French army under the command of Marshal Grouchy. A blocking action, this battle kept 33,000 French soldiers from reaching the battle at Waterloo. This battle helped the Allied forces defeat the French army there.

Houssière
The Houssière is a little river in the provinces of Namur and Walloon Brabant in Belgium, left tributary of the Orne. Its source lies between Gentinnes and Sombreffe. It traverses Villeroux and Hévillers, and flows into the Orne at Mont-Saint-Guibert.
Wavre transmitter
The Wavre radio transmitter is a facility for mediumwave, shortwave, FM and TV broadcasting near Wavre in Belgium. For the mediumwave transmissions it uses a grounded 250-metre high guyed mast. Furthermore there is a backup mast for medium wave transmissions, which is 90 metres high. For shortwave broadcasting several directional antennas and a curtain antenna are used. The towers are two of the tallest structures in Belgium.
Pécrot rail crash
The Pécrot rail crash was a rail accident in the village of Pécrot (adjoining the village of Sint-Agatha-Rode), Belgium, that occurred on 27 March 2001 when two passenger trains collided head-on. The rail crash was Belgium's worst train disaster in a quarter century.
Province of Brabant
South Brabant was a province of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1815 until 1830, distinguishing it from North Brabant and Central Brabant. Upon Belgium's independence, it was renamed simply Brabant and remained a province of the new Kingdom of Belgium until 1995, when it was split into the Dutch-speaking Flemish Brabant, the French-speaking Walloon Brabant and the bilingual Brussels-Capital Region.

Nil-Saint-Vincent-Saint-Martin
Nil-Saint-Vincent-Saint-Martin is a former municipality in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. In 1976 it became part of the municipality of Walhain. The villages of Nil-Saint-Vincent and Nil-Saint-Martin were merged in 1812. 'Nil' is the name of a small river, along whose valley the various areas of settlement (Nil-Pierreux, Nil-Saint-Vincent, Nil-Saint-Martin) lie.

A popular vacation and holiday destination, the lake is surrounded by beautiful, turn-of-the-century homes built during the Belle Époque. Situated to the lake's south lies the Château du Lac, an exquisite five-star hotel, restaurant, and bar.

The CECRI (Centre d'Etude des Crises et Conflits Internationaux) is a research centre at Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium. Its central aim is to provide analyses and to conduct academic research on contemporary international crises and conflicts. It currently hosts 19 research members, plus associates, and the current head is Prof. Amine Ait-Chaalal.

Solvay Castle

Today the property is owned by the regional government of Wallonia, and is classified as an "Exceptional Heritage Site in Wallonia.

Battle of Gembloux (1940)
The Battle of Gembloux (or Battle of the Gembloux Gap) was a battle fought between French and German forces in May 1940 during the Second World War. On 10 May 1940, Nazi Germany's armed forces, the Wehrmacht, invaded Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Belgium under the operational plan Fall Gelb (Case Yellow). The Allied Armies attempted to halt the German Army in Belgium, believing it to be the main German thrust.
Laboratory for the Analysis of Organisational Communication Systems
LASCO is the Laboratory for the Analysis of Organizational Communication Systems located in Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium. The LASCO was created in February 2000 as part of the Communication Department of the Université catholique de Louvain, sometimes known as UCL. Its founders were Pierre de Saint-Georges, Axel Gryspeerdt and Vincent Defourny. The LASCO is currently chaired by Thierry Libaert.
