Battle of the Golden Spurs
The Battle of the Golden Spurs, known also as the Battle of Courtrai was fought on July 11, 1302, near Kortrijk (Courtrai) in Flanders. The date of the battle is the official holiday of the Flemish community in Belgium.

Menen German war cemetery
The Menen German war cemetery is a military cemetery in the Belgian town of Menen territory and partly in Wevelgem. There were nearly 48,000 German soldiers buried from the First World War, making it the largest in Flanders. In between are several crosses and oak and chestnut trees. In the center is an octagonal memorial chapel. The original cemetery was created in 1917. Between 1956-1958, there were 128 small German military cemeteries scattered across Flanders consolidated to four.

The Groeningepoort is a monument in the Belgian city of Kortrijk. The triumphal arch was built to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of the Golden Spurs and gives access to the Groeningepark, where during the Middle Ages the Groeninge battlefield was situated. In this park you can also find the golden Groeninge Monument. The Groeningepoort was erected in 1908 and has the inscription 1302 – Groeningheveld.
Groeninge Monument
The Groeninge Monument is a Monument in the Belgian city of Kortrijk. The gilded statue was inaugurated to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of the Golden Spurs. The statue is situated in the Groeningepark, where during the Middle Ages the Groeninge battlefield was situated. In this park one can also find the Groeningegate, a triumphal arch, which gives access to the park. The Groeninge Monument was designed by sculptor Godfried Devreese.
Saint Martin's Church (Kortrijk)
The Saint-Martin's Church is the main church and one of the principal Gothic monuments of Kortrijk, Flanders, Belgium. The church is dedicated to the saint Martin of Tours and was built between 1390 and 1466. This church was built after the devastation of the first gothic Saint Martin's church, which was located at the place where before a Roman church stood (built in 650).
De Kreun
De Kreun is a concert hall in the Belgian city of Kortrijk. The Dutch term "Kreun" literally translates into English as "groan". It's a concert venue located in the centre of Kortrijk where most of all pop and rock concerts take place. De Kreun also serves as an organisation who supports new musical talent.

Schouwburgplein (Kortrijk)
The Schouwburgplein (or Theatre Square in English) is situated in the heart of the city of Kortrijk, Belgium, and is flanked by the municipal theatre (Stadsschouwburg) and several historic buildings. The rectangular square was shaped after the demolition of the old 'Lakenhalle' (Clothes Hall) (built in 1411) which was severely damaged by friendly fire in 1944. The square is situated between the Doorniksestraat and the Havermarkt and occupies an area of 5,060 square metres.

One of the city's most prominent symbols, the belfry formerly housed a treasury and the municipal archives, and served as an observation post for spotting fires and other danger. A narrow, steep staircase, accessible by the public without any entry fee, leads to the top of the building, which nowadays leans about a bit to the west.
