The Belgian city of Ghent has three béguinages: the "Old Saint Elisabeth", known in English as the Holy Corner, the new Saint Elisabeth béguinage in the Ghent suburb of Sint-Amandsberg and Our Lady Ter Hoyen in the Lange Violettenstraat. Malem is a garden-city neighbourhood in the city of Ghent, Belgium. The neighbourhood was built between 1948 and 1953 in a very homogeneous garden-city idea, with uniform white houses, that were designed to house victims of World War II. The neighbourhood has kept its original character. The area is located on the west side of the Ghent agglomeration.
Watersportbaan
The Watersportbaan is a five lane rowing race course in the Belgian city of Ghent. It is 2300 metres long and 76m wide and was first used in 1954. Despite most major international Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Aviron (FISA) regattas are designed to adhere to the 8-lane Albano format, this race track is suited for 2 medium-sized international FISA Regattas, but also for smaller competitions. The two annual regattas are Spring Regatta (Spring Regatta) and Meiregatta.
Trams in Ghent
The Ghent tramway network (Dutch: de Gentse tram) is part of the public transport system in the city of Ghent, Belgium, with a total of three lines (1, 21/22 and 4). Since 1991, it has been operated by De Lijn, the public transport entity responsible for buses and trams in Flanders. As of the end of 2008, there were 40 HermeLijn trams and 43 PCC trams, running on three routes.
Saint Michael's Church, Ghent
The Saint Michael's church in Ghent, Belgium, is a Roman Catholic church devoted to Archangel Michael. The construction of the current church, which was preceded, on the same site, first by a small chapel, destroyed by fire early in the twelfth century, followed by a larger church, probably began in 1440, and took place in two phases, separated by a long interruption.

Kolegem is the eastern part of Mariakerke. Mariakerke is part of the city Ghent (Belgium). Kolegem is separated from the rest of Mariakerke by a canal named Brugse Vaart, a canal between Ghent and Bruges. Some famous buildings in Kolegem are the former municipality house of Mariakerke (now containing only the administrative services), the Kollekasteel and the restaurant De Groene Staak.
