Kurapaty
Kurapaty is a wooded area on the outskirts of Minsk, Belarus, in which a vast number of people were executed between 1937 and 1941 by the Soviet secret police, the NKVD. The exact count of victims is uncertain, NKVD archives are classified in Belarus.
BELOMO
BelOMO or Belorusskoe Optiko-Mechanichesckoye Obyedinenie (Belarus Optical & Mechanical Enterprise) was founded in Minsk in 1971 in Byelorussian SSR, Soviet Union, now Belarus. The main plant of this enterprise is the Minskiy Mechanichesckiy Zavod imeni S.I. Vavilova (Minsk Mechanical Works named by S.I. Vavilov), founded in 1957. At first, BelOMO made photographic equipment and lens-making machinery for state use. It now manufactures military and consumer optical products.

Belarusfilm
Belarusfilm is the main film studio of Belarus. Founded in 1928 as the Soviet Belarus studio (Савецкая Беларусь) in Leningrad, the studio was moved to Minsk in 1939. Film production was interrupted by the war, and restarted in 1946, when the studio assumed its current name. In Soviet times, the studio was dubbed Partizanfilm, due to the large output of films portraying the Soviet partisan's struggle against Nazi occupation. The studio was however also renowned for its children's films.

The National Library of Belarus (Belarusian: Нацыянальная бібліятэка Беларусі, Russian: Национальная библиотека Беларуси), founded on 15 September 1922, is a copyright library of the Republic of Belarus. It houses the largest collection of Belarusian printed materials and the third largest collection of books in Russian behind the Russian State Library (Moscow) and the Russian National Library (St Petersburg). It is now located in a new 72-metre (236 feet) high building in Minsk, Belarus.
Chelyuskinites Park
Chelyuskinites Park is an urban forest park in Minsk, Belarus. The park's area is 78 hectares. The park contains an amusement park. Other attractions include a Children's Railroad, operated exclusively by teenagers, and a cinema Raduga. There is a Minsk Metro station "Park Chalyuskintsau" next to the park. The park is adjacent to the Minsk Botanical Garden. The park was established during 1928-1932 as Kamaroúski Park and was renamed in 1934 for the crew of the SS Chelyuskin.
National Opera and Ballet of Belarus
The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus is located in a park in the Trinity Banlieu of the city of Minsk. Local people call it the "Opierny Teatr" (Belarusian) or the "Opera and Ballet Theater". It opened on 15 May 1933 but it first did not have its own building for presenting at the Belarusian Drama Theater building until 1938. The current theater building was opened in 1939.
Gorky Park (Minsk)
Gorky Park (парк Горького, центральный детский парк им. Максима Горького, Maksim Gorky Central Children's Park) is a public park in Minsk, Belarus. In is located near the Victory Square and the Yanka Kupala Park. The park was established in 1800 under the name Governor's Garden. During the Soviet times it was renamed "парк культуры и отдыха им. Максима Горького" (Park of culture and recreation after A.M. Gorky) after the famous Russian/Soviet writer Maksim Gorky.
Borisovsky Trakt (Minsk Metro)
Borisovsky Trakt is a Minsk Metro station on the Moskovskaya Line. Opened on November 7, 2007 the station's name is derived from the Borisov Highway which leads to a city that is northeast of Minsk. The station will be a standard single level pillar-bispan with hi-tech aestatic design of white and red colours. Station exits will lead to the Belarusian National Technical University and East (Moskovskoye) cemetery.
Uschod (Minsk Metro)
Uschod is a Minsk Metro station. Opened on December 30, 1986. The station's name not only implies its geographical location, as it was the easternmost station of Minsk metro for more than 20 years, but also its connotation with the Vostok space programme that ultimately led to the first manned spaceflight. The station's architectural ensemble (Ye. Leonovich, V. Matelsky) is based on the latter, and consists of a single vault shape with suspended canopy that forms a single element.

Akademiya Nauk (Minsk Metro)
Akademiya Nauk or Akademiya Navyk is a station on the Minsk Metro's Moskovskaya Line. Named after the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, which is located nearby, the station was opened along the first stage of the metro on 30 June 1984. Designed by architects A. Zenzin and M. Pirogov, the station is a typical pillar-trispan consisting of two rows of concrete pillars, which are reveted with grey marble, and punctuated by stainless steel insets.
Yakub Kolas Square
Yakub Kolas Square (Belarusian: Плошча Якуба Коласа) is a square in Pershamayski District of Minsk, is located on crossing of Independence Avenue, Yakub Kolas street and Vera Khoruzhaya street. The square was named in honour of the folk poet and one of the founders of the classic Belarusian literature - Yakub Kolas. The sculptures of Yakub Kolas and figures from his poems form the architectural centerpiece of the square.

Minsk State Linguistic University is a university in Minsk, Belarus. It specialises in foreign languages with major focus on English, French, German and Spanish. It was founded in 1948 as Minsk Institute for Foreign Languages. In 2006 it had 8 departments. Degree programs are taught in Russian, but foreign students can learn Russian in a preparatory program or in a course for foreign students.
