It takes off from the Ganges not far from Kushtia, and after flowing in a south-easterly direction, past Kumarkhali and Khoksa, passes over the border into the Goalundo subdivision of Faridpur District. It throws out two unimportant distributaries from its right bank, named the Kaliganga and Dakua. Kushtia town is situated on the right bank of this river.
