University of Innsbruck
The University of Innsbruck (German: Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck; Latin: Universitas Leopoldino Franciscea Oenipontana) is a public university in the capital of the Austrian federal state of Tyrol, founded in 1669. It is currently the largest education facility in the Austrian Bundesland of Tirol, the third largest in Austria behind Vienna University and the University of Graz and according to The Times Higher Education Supplement World Ranking 2010 Austria's leading university.

Bergisel
The Bergisel is a hill (746 m) that lies to the south of Innsbruck, Austria, in the area of Wilten, where the Sill river meets the Inn Valley. The word's first syllable Berg- doesn't correspond etymologically to the German word Berg with the meaning mountain. The Bergisel's contemporary name is derived from the pre-Roman word burgusinus (elevated position), which then altered through folk etymology, causing the occasional spelling Berg Isel or its English equivalent Mount Isel.

It encloses the Statutarstadt Innsbruck, and borders Bavaria in the north, the district Schwaz in the east, South Tyrol in Italy to the south, and the district of Imst in the west. Area of the district is 1,986.45 km², with a population of 167,339 (January 1, 2012), and population density of 84 persons per km². Administrative center of the district is Innsbruck.
OlympiaWorld Innsbruck
OlympiaWorld Innsbruck is a multi-purpose sports facility complex in Innsbruck, Austria. It was built in 1963, holds 7,212 people, during ice hockey matches and 15,000 people, during handball matches. The ice hockey games at the 1964 Winter Olympics and 1976 Winter Olympics were held at this arena, as well as being one of the venues during the 2010 European Men's Handball Championship.
Olympiahalle (Innsbruck)
Olympiahalle is an indoor sports venue located in Innsbruck, Austria. During the 1964 Winter Olympics, it hosted the figure skating and ice hockey events. Twelve years later, it hosted those same events. Twelve years later, Olympic competitions were again held at the Olympiahalle. For the IIHF World Championship 2005 it was renovated and built a second small ice rink.
Tivoli-Neu
Tivoli-Neu is a multi-purpose stadium in Innsbruck, Austria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FC Wacker Innsbruck. The stadium capacity was 17,400 when it was built in 2000. For the UEFA Euro 2008 the stadium was temporarily expanded to 30,000 people.

Ruetz
The Ruetz River flows from the glacier area of the valley to the Wipptal in north-east direction. Near the famous "Europe bridge" it merges with the Sill River after a route length of appr. 25 km. The river crosses straight the village of Fulpmes providing a nearby power station of the Austrian Railway Services with electricity. As a typical rapid-river the Ruetz is pretty dangerous and full of rapids. Before several defence structures had been constructed, it was quite feared due to floods.
Lake Lans
The Lake Lans or Lanser See is a lake for bathing near Lans located on the southern highlands above Innsbruck. The lake can be reached by Streetcar Line 6 from Innsbruck easily. The Lake is very popular due to its green environment, and it is used for ice-skating during the winter. The Lake belongs to the city area of Innsbruck. Thanks to its fen water the Lanser See has an excellent water quality; in Summer it is affected due to the many guests though.
Mühlsee
The Mühlsee, or Lake Mills, is a lake in Tyrol. It had an in- and outflow but it was buried in 2005. Nowadays, the lake is without fresh water. The lake is mainly used for fish breeding; bathing is prohibited due to the small size. Sometimes the lake is plagued by algae. The lake can be reached by Streetcar Line 6 from Innsbruck or on foot from Lans. There are high reeds along the shore often hiding fen puddles which act like quicksand.
Lanser Moor
The Fen of Lans also: Lanser Moor or Water Lily Pond is located north above Lake Lans on an altitude of 582 metres in the Paschberg forest. With an area size of 8000 m² the Lake is much smaller than its larger brother is with a depth of 3 metres. To keep his natural beauty intact, bathing and swimming was already forbidden by the city administration of Innsbruck very early. The Lake is under nature conservation.
Grand Pond
The Grand Pond, also called Castle Park Pond, is located in the park east of the main entrance of Castle Ambras in the city area of Innsbruck. The lake was established by the Habsburgs for rare water birds. The Pond is provided by fresh water due to the Aldranser brook, which also drains the Lake. The Lake has quite a good water quality: B grade. The shores were fenced in to forbid bathing. The muddy bottom and the reed regions protect the birds and give nourishment to them and the fishes.
Bergiselschanze
Bergiselschanze is a ski jumping hill located in Bergisel in Innsbruck, Austria. It is one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, annually hosting the third competition of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. Its first competitions were held in the 1920s using simple wood constructions. The larger hill was first built in 1930 and was rebuilt before the 1964 Winter Olympics for the individual large hill event. Twelve years later, the venue hosted the same event.
Stubai Valley Railway
|} The Stubai Valley Railway is an 18.2 km long narrow gauge interurban tram from Innsbruck to Fulpmes in Tyrol, Austria. In the city of Innsbruck, it uses the local tramway tracks. At the Stubaital station, the branch line-rated part begins. The meter gauge track starts at Innsbruck's Main station, crosses the Wilten district, and passes the villages of Natters, Mutters, Kreith, and Telfes.
Rapoldi-Weiher
The Rapoldi-Weiher lies in the park with the same name in the district Pradl in Innsbruck. It was erected as recreation area. With an area size of 1.5 ha the Lake is a larger waters in the city area. The Lake possesses an artificial feed pipe, which takes the water from the Sill River subterraneously and supplies the Lake with it. An outflow with 70 metres length leads the water back into the river. Nevertheless the Lake is soiling more and more.
Akademisches Gymnasium Innsbruck
The Akademisches Gymnasium Innsbruck is a grammar school, or Gymnasium in Innsbruck, Tyrol, founded in 1562 by the Jesuits in the course of the counter-reformation. Thus, it is the oldest school in Western Austria and one of the oldest schools in the German-speaking world.
Small Pond (Innsbruck)
The Small Pond is also located in the castle park of Castle Ambras and is 300 metres south below the Grand Pond. The lake is surrounded by forest and has only app. 0.70 ha size. The small lake is flowed through by the Aldranser brook and possesses little fish population. Due to the small size pollution occures at times even through fresh water supply.
Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck
The Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck is a venue for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton located in Igls, Austria. The most recent version of the track was completed in 1975 and is the first permanent, combination artificially refrigerated bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track, serving as a model for other tracks of its kind worldwide. It hosted the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton competitions for the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics.
Innsbruck Central Station
Innsbruck Central Station (Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof) is a railway station in Innsbruck, the capital city of the Austrian federal state of Tyrol. Opened in 1853, it is one of the country's busiest railway stations, with around 25,000 passenger movements daily. The station is owned and operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). It forms the junction between the Arlberg railway, the Brenner railway, the Mittenwald railway, the Stubai Valley railway and the Lower Inn Valley railway.

The Olympia Eisschnellaufbahn is a speed skating venue located in Innsbruck, Austria. The outdoor venue hosted the speed skating events both for the 1964 and the 1976 Winter Olympics. It is part of the OlympiaWorld Innsbruck consortium that is responsible for maintaining venues that hosted both the 1964 and the 1976 Winter Olympics.
Tyrolean State Museum
The Tyrolean State Museum in Innsbruck is also known as the Ferdinandeum after Archduke Ferdinand and was founded in 1823 by the Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum Society (Verein Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum). Since 2007 it has been a major division of the Tyrolean State Museums Operating Company (Tiroler Landesmuseen-Betriebsgesellschaft), which has taken over the running of the business.

Innsbruck Stubaital station
Stubaital station was built in 1903 and, until 1983, was the terminus of the Stubai Valley Railway in Innsbruck. Since 1983 trains approaching from Fulpmes have been routed through the city of Innsbruck. Originally the station, which is located on the Brenner Road at the foot of the Bergisel, had a nameboard announcing the station name as Wilten-Stubai because the village of Wilten was independent until 1904.
Internationales Studentenhaus Innsbruck
Internationales Studentenhaus (ISH) in Innsbruck, the capital of the province Tyrol in Austria, has been providing student accommodation since 1958. The company that built and owns the residence was founded on 15 February 1952. That makes ISH the oldest private student residence in Austria.
