New Cathedral, Linz
The building of the New Cathedral (Germ. Neuer Dom), also known as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Mariä-Empfängnis-Dom) in Linz was begun in 1855 by Bishop Franz-Josef Rudigier. The first stone was laid in 1862. This event was solemnised by the performance of Bruckner's Festive Cantata Preiset den Hern. In 1924 Bishop Johannes Maria Gföllner consecrated the finished building as the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary (Mariendom).
Freinberg Transmitter
The Freinberg Transmitter is a broadcasting transmitter on the Freinberg near Linz. It was established in 1928 as medium wave broadcasting station and used until 1936 a T-antenna, which hung up on two guyed masts, which were 45 metres tall. In 1936, the T-antenna was replaced by a 165 metre tall mast, insulated against ground. In summer 1950, the antenna mast was shortened to 120 metres, because it was too long for the new frequency and would have a bad radiation diagram.
Battle of Ebelsberg
The Battle of Ebelsberg, known in French accounts as the Battle of Ebersberg, was fought on 3 May 1809 during the War of the Fifth Coalition, part of the Napoleonic Wars. The Austrian left wing under the command of Johann von Hiller took up positions at Ebersberg on the Traun river. The French under André Masséna attacked, crossing a heavily defended 550-meter-long bridge and subsequently conquering the local castle, thus forcing Hiller to withdraw.
Linzer Stadion
Linzer Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium, in Linz, Austria. The stadium holds 18,000 people and was built in 1952. The stadium was opened on 28 July 1952, on the grounds of the former Froschberg-Brickworks. The stadium is also known as "Auf der Gugl", the name of the hill on which it is situated. It is currently used mostly for football matches and hosts most matches of FC Blau-Weiß Linz and top matches of LASK Linz.

Donauhalle is an indoor sporting arena located in Linz, Austria. Since the Donauhalle is sponsored by an Austrian insurance group in 2008 now it is called "Keine Sorgen Eisarena". The capacity of the arena is about 3,800 people and was built in 1986, which cost 6,3 million euro. The ice is 60 times 30m big. It is currently home of the EHC Black Wings Linz ice hockey team. Donauhalle also refers to an exhibition complex in Ulm, Germany.

TipsArena Linz is an indoor sports arena, located in Linz, Austria. The capacity of the arena is 6,000 people, for tennis and football events and 2,500, for athletics. From 2003 to 2010 the arena was called Intersport Arena. It is the home of the Generali Ladies Linz, a WTA Tour tennis tournament.
UNO Shopping
The UNO Shopping was a shopping mall in Leonding, Upper Austria and is located southwest of Linz. It was opened on 16 October 1990. In 2007, the mall had a revenue of 145 Million Euro. The Stadtwerkstatt in Linz, Upper Austria was founded in 1979 by students from the art university and cultural activists. First initiated as a reaction to the main square being "concreted over", the Stadtwerkstatt developed into a center of culture and communication that has been located since 1990 in Alt-Urfahr. The Stadtwerkstatt regularly holds music events, but also organizes other artistic and cultural activities.
Pöstlingbergbahn
The Pöstlingbergbahn is a narrow-gauge electric railway, or "mountain tramway", in Linz, Austria. It connects the main square in the center of Linz with the district of Pöstlingberg, located at the top of a hill (or small mountain) at the northern end of the city. Opened in 1898, for 110 years the meter-gauge railway ran from a terminal station in Linz's Urfahr neighborhood, located across from the terminal of urban tram route 3, to Pöstlingberg.

Linz Central Station (Linz Hauptbahnhof) is a railway station in Linz, the third largest city in Austria, and capital city of the federal state of Upper Austria. Opened in 1858, the station is the centrepiece of the Linz transport hub. It forms part of the Western Railway, and is also a terminus of the Pyhrn Railway, the Summerauer Railway, and the Linzer Lokalbahn (LILO). The station is owned by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB); train services are operated by the ÖBB and the LILO.

The Pflasterspektakel is an annual street art festival in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. It includes musical acts, juggling, acrobatics, pantomime, improvisational theatre, clownery, fire dancing, painting, samba parades, as well as a programme for children, and is held on three days in July in and around the main square and the Landstraße. In 2010, about 400 artists from over forty nations participated in the event.
