Heirisson Island

Heirisson Island (Matagarup) is an island in the Swan River in Western Australia at the eastern end of Perth Water . The city of Perth and the Town of Victoria Park are linked by The Causeway which is actually two bridges which span the two foreshores and the island. It occupies an area of roughly 285,600 square metres. Prior to development, there were actually two islands, surrounded by mudflats. It also had alternate names.

Perth Zoo

The Perth Zoo is a 41-acre zoo that opened in 1898 in South Perth, Western Australia. As of January 2011, it is home to 1258 animals of 164 species and includes an extensive botanical collection. In 2010/11, the zoo had a paid staff of about 248 (167 full-time equivalents), plus about 300 volunteer docents. It is a full institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

Point Belches

Point Belches is a small point on the south side of Swan River, Western Australia, about 250 metres east of The Narrows within the area known as Perth Water. The land is part of the South Perth Esplanade, and the water off the point is used as a commercial water skiing area. Point Belches was discovered by Captain (later Admiral Sir) James Stirling during the Swan River expedition of 1827.

Langley Park (Western Australia)

Langley Park is an open space in the central business district of Perth, Western Australia. Running alongside Riverside Drive, it is grassed, rectangular in shape and has dimensions 900 x 100 m (3000 x 300 ft). As a pioneer of civil aviation in Western Australia, Major Norman Brearley used the park as an airstrip in the 1920s.

Windsor Hotel (Perth)

The Windsor Hotel is a heritage-listed building in South Perth, Western Australia. Designed by J. J. Talbot Hobbs, the building is of Federation Filigree style. Built in 1898, it is one of the earliest surviving hotels in Perth's southern suburbs. The Windsor is sited to take advantage of patrons visiting Perth Zoo, coming via ferry along the Swan River.
