Mundaring is a suburb located 34 km east of Perth on the Great Eastern Highway. The suburb is located within the Shire of Mundaring. The Aboriginal name of the area 'Mindah-lung', said to mean 'a high place on a high place', was anglicised to become 'Mundaring'. The Mundaring area is also considered to be part of the Perth Hills area.

Swan View Tunnel
The Swan View Tunnel is a 340 m (1116 ft) railway tunnel located on the southern side of the Jane Brook valley at Swan View, Western Australia on the edge of the Darling Scarp. Currently inactive, due to its location within the John Forrest National Park the tunnel and its adjacent landscape are maintained in a conserved state. Prior to the construction of tunnels for the Mandurah line in 2004, the Swan View Tunnel was the only tunnel built for the Western Australian railway network.
Glen Forrest, Western Australia
Glen Forrest is a suburb within the Shire of Mundaring, south of John Forrest National Park, west of Mahogany Creek, east of Darlington, and north of the Helena River. Its northern boundary is determined by the Great Eastern Highway. Originally known as Smiths Mill after a prominent founder citizen, it is currently named after the first Premier of Western Australia, Sir John Forrest.

Chidlow railway station, Perth was a railway station of importance on the Eastern Railway in Western Australia. In all Working Timetables (WTT) during the operation of this line, there was an arrival and departure time, owing to either taking on water for steam engines, or change in crew. Up until its closure, it had tearooms, and the overnight sleeper train 'The Westland' to Kalgoorlie had a refreshment stop at Chidlow.

Darlington Arts Festival is a festival held annually in Darlington, Western Australia. The origins of the festival were in the 1950s, spawned from the relationship between the artists resident in Darlington and the local voluntary community fire brigade. One of the longest lasting community festivals in Perth, Western Australia the festival includes an art exhibition in the local historic Darlington Hall and a fair on the adjacent cricket oval.
Darlington Hall
Darlington Hall is a heritage listed building in Darlington, Western Australia. The original structure was a built for the nineteenth century Darlington Winery in 1890 for Alfred Waylen and Josceline Amherst. It is now called Darlington Hall, and a part is home to the Darlington Club. The building is registered with the Western Australian Heritage Council. The original structure is known as the lesser hall, while the more recent larger section on the west side is the main hall.
Mahogany Creek, Western Australia
Mahogany Creek is a suburb in the shire of Mundaring, Western Australia. Its name is derived from the historic Mahogany Creek Inn, constructed in about 1880, and situated on what was the York Road, now known as the Great Eastern Highway. The inn is heritage listed. Mahogany Creek is also the location of the steepest section of the Great Eastern Highway after Greenmount Hill. The suburb had a population of 763 in 1991, and in 1996 it was 822.
Chippers Leap
Chippers Leap, formerly known as Chipper's Leap, is a granite outcrop on Greenmount Hill in Perth, Western Australia. It is located at 31º54'S 116º04'E, on the northern side of Great Eastern Highway, near the border between the suburbs of Swan View and Greenmount. Chippers Leap is named for John Chipper, who jumped from the rock on 3 February 1832 while trying to escape an attack by a party of Noongars.

Stoneville, Western Australia
Stoneville is a suburb east of Perth in the Shire of Mundaring, Western Australia. It is named after Sir Albert Edward Stone, who was Chief Justice of Western Australia when the place was named in 1905. The name was chosen by the local residents who were developing the district for fruit growing. The town's population is 2,050, with a median age of 36 years and 7.1% of residents aged over 65.
Sawyers Valley, Western Australia
Sawyers Valley is sited on the Great Eastern Highway about 40 kilometres from Perth, Western Australia in the Shire of Mundaring. The community began as a sawmill and railway siding to process timber from the forest surrounding the Helena River to the south. Local employment included forest and Goldfields Water Supply Scheme maintenance, small orchards, and the Midland Railway Workshops.

Gidgegannup is a township 40 kilometres northeast of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. The name Gidgegannup comes from a Noongar word meaning "Place where spears are made", and was first recorded by passing surveyors in 1852. The townsite is situated on Toodyay Road. The locality is drained by the north flowing Wooroloo and Gidgegannup Brooks.
