Mundaring, Western Australia
Mundaring is a suburb located 34 km east of Perth on the Great Eastern Highway. The suburb is located within the Shire of Mundaring. The Aboriginal name of the area 'Mindah-lung', said to mean 'a high place on a high place', was anglicised to become 'Mundaring'. The Mundaring area is also considered to be part of the Perth Hills area.

Kalamunda Zig Zag
The Kalamunda Zig Zag was completed in 1891, as part of the Upper Darling Range Railway line in Western Australia which was built by the Canning Jarrah Timber Company to supply railway sleepers to Perth's growing railway system.
Swan View Tunnel
The Swan View Tunnel is a 340 m (1116 ft) railway tunnel located on the southern side of the Jane Brook valley at Swan View, Western Australia on the edge of the Darling Scarp. Currently inactive, due to its location within the John Forrest National Park the tunnel and its adjacent landscape are maintained in a conserved state. Prior to the construction of tunnels for the Mandurah line in 2004, the Swan View Tunnel was the only tunnel built for the Western Australian railway network.
Glen Forrest, Western Australia
Glen Forrest is a suburb within the Shire of Mundaring, south of John Forrest National Park, west of Mahogany Creek, east of Darlington, and north of the Helena River. Its northern boundary is determined by the Great Eastern Highway. Originally known as Smiths Mill after a prominent founder citizen, it is currently named after the first Premier of Western Australia, Sir John Forrest.

Swan View is an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its Local Government Areas are the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring, and it is located 25 kilometres from Perth in an area known as the Perth Hills on the edge of the Darling Scarp, just to the west of the John Forrest National Park, east of Roe Highway and north of the Great Eastern Highway. The Brown Park community recreation ground is the location of the long standing annual Swan View Agricultural Show.

Boya is a locality on the Darling Scarp, in the Shire of Mundaring, Western Australia. On the south side of Greenmount Hill, and just west of Darlington. The name of Boya was not a local Aboriginal word, but was imposed by government officials in the early twentieth century.
Darlington Arts Festival
Darlington Arts Festival is a festival held annually in Darlington, Western Australia. The origins of the festival were in the 1950s, spawned from the relationship between the artists resident in Darlington and the local voluntary community fire brigade. One of the longest lasting community festivals in Perth, Western Australia the festival includes an art exhibition in the local historic Darlington Hall and a fair on the adjacent cricket oval.
Darlington Hall
Darlington Hall is a heritage listed building in Darlington, Western Australia. The original structure was a built for the nineteenth century Darlington Winery in 1890 for Alfred Waylen and Josceline Amherst. It is now called Darlington Hall, and a part is home to the Darlington Club. The building is registered with the Western Australian Heritage Council. The original structure is known as the lesser hall, while the more recent larger section on the west side is the main hall.
Mahogany Creek, Western Australia
Mahogany Creek is a suburb in the shire of Mundaring, Western Australia. Its name is derived from the historic Mahogany Creek Inn, constructed in about 1880, and situated on what was the York Road, now known as the Great Eastern Highway. The inn is heritage listed. Mahogany Creek is also the location of the steepest section of the Great Eastern Highway after Greenmount Hill. The suburb had a population of 763 in 1991, and in 1996 it was 822.
Chippers Leap
Chippers Leap, formerly known as Chipper's Leap, is a granite outcrop on Greenmount Hill in Perth, Western Australia. It is located at 31º54'S 116º04'E, on the northern side of Great Eastern Highway, near the border between the suburbs of Swan View and Greenmount. Chippers Leap is named for John Chipper, who jumped from the rock on 3 February 1832 while trying to escape an attack by a party of Noongars.
Gooseberry Hill, Western Australia
Gooseberry Hill is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the Shire of Kalamunda. It is the site of Gooseberry Hill National Park. It is located at the highest point south of the departure of the Helena River from the Darling Scarp on to the Swan Coastal Plain. It is often associated with the railway formation of the Kalamunda Zig Zag, and the northern most high feature of Statham's Quarry which lie on the north west of the locality within national park land.

Swan View railway station
Swan View railway station, Perth was a railway station of significance on the Eastern Railway in Western Australia. In all Working Timetables (WTT) during the operation of this line, the station was the point of control for the Swan View Tunnel The Bellevue to Chidlow railway line involved the encounter with the Darling Scarp requiring extra power for the up line, and considerable extra caution for the up and down lines.
