Mount Claremont is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, Australia, located within the Town of Cambridge and the City of Nedlands. It consists mostly of residential estates which were built in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was known as Graylands until 1988, but was renamed due to association with the Graylands psychiatric hospital. At 23.4%, it has a higher number of University or tertiary institution graduates than Perth’s average of 13.5%.
Claremont Showgrounds
The Claremont Showgrounds are home to the annual Perth Royal Show. In 1902, 32 acres of land were reserved in the Perth suburb of Claremont for new showgrounds to replace the Guildford Showgrounds. The Royal Agricultural Show, of three days, was first held there in October and November, 1905.

Claremont Oval is an Australian rules football stadium located in Perth, Australia. The capacity of the venue is 10,000 people and was opened in 1905 and is the home of the Claremont Football Club. Before 1925, the "Claremont Recreation Ground" served as a Cricket and Soccer Ground, with no fence, native bush on the eastern side, near the Showgrounds, with the remaining area a sandy wasteland.

The Town of Claremont is a local government area in the affluent inner western suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, located about halfway between the port city of Fremantle and Perth's central business district. The Town covers an area of 4.9 square kilometres, maintains 48 km of roads and 87 km of footpaths, and has an estimated population of 9,891 as at June 2010.
John XXIII College (Perth, Western Australia)
John XXIII College is a Catholic co-educational school in Perth, Western Australia. The school provides education from kindergarten to year twelve students. The college is the result of the merger in 1977 of the Jesuit Saint Louis boys school spread over different campuses (first opened in 1938) and Loreto Convent girls school (first opened in 1897). In 1986 the school was relocated to its present site in Mount Claremont.
Graylands Teachers College
Graylands Teachers College was a primary teacher education institution, established in Graylands in Western Australia in 1955. It became the second teachers' college, after Claremont Teachers College, to be established in the state, with three others subsequently opened. Built on a former World War II army barracks site, most of the buildings were corrugated iron and asbestos structures which had only been intended to operate for about five years.
Swanbourne Hospital
Swanbourne Hospital is a heritage listed former hospital for the mentally ill located in Mount Claremont, Western Australia. Built in 1904, it was the biggest hospital in Western Australia for the mentally ill for much of the twentieth century until its closure in September 1972. The hospital was originally known as Claremont Hospital for the Insane, Claremont Mental Hospital and Claremont Hospital.
