Monash University
Monash University (or simply Monash) is a public university based in Melbourne, Australia. It was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the State of Victoria. Monash is a member of Australia's Group of Eight and the ASAIHL. Monash enrolls approximately 45,000 undergraduate and 17,000 graduate students, making it the university with the largest student body in Australia. It also has more applicants than any university in the state of Victoria.

Monash University shooting
The Monash University shooting refers to a shooting in which a student shot his classmates and teacher, killing two and injuring five. It took place at Monash University in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 21 October 2002. The gunman, Huan Yun Xiang, was acquitted of crimes related to the shootings due to mental impairment, and is currently under psychiatric care.

The Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) is a $153 million dollar medical research centre that opened in April 2009. Its foundation director is Professor Nadia Rosenthal. Rosenthal has previously served at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and Harvard Medical School.
