Francis Ormond
Francis Ormond (23 November 1827 – 5 May 1889) was a Scottish-born Australian pastoralist, member of the Parliament of Victoria and philanthropist in the areas of education and religion. Ormond is notable for founding the Working Men's College of Melbourne, which became the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), and for endowing the position of Ormond Professor of Music and donating the majority of funds towards the establishment of Ormond College, both at the University of Melbourne.

Thomson is a small residential suburb of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Thomson is triangular in shape and is bounded in the west by Breakwater Road, Carr Street and St Albans Road, in the north by Lomond Terrace, Godfrey and Ensby Streets, and in the east by Ormond and Boundary Roads. Thomson was named after the early settler and the first mayor of Geelong Dr. Alexander Thomson. Thomson Post Office opened in 1950 and closed in 1992.

Geelong Racecourse (commonly known as Breakwater) is a disused railway station on the Geelong-Warrnambool railway line in South Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The station was situated on a loop siding off the main line and was only used for special events at the nearby Geelong Racecourse, the Geelong Racing Club having originally paid £1000 in 1906 to have the station built. The last V/Line service to stop there was for the 2005 Geelong Cup.

Reedy Lake
Reedy Lake, historically also known as Lake Reedy, is a shallow 5.5 km freshwater lake or swamp on the lower reaches of the Barwon River, on the Bellarine Peninsula near the city Geelong, Victoria, Australia. It is included in the Lake Connewarre State Game Reserve, which is managed by Parks Victoria. It is the largest freshwater swamp in central Victoria, and is part of a wetland complex which includes Hospital Swamp, Lake Connewarre, Salt Swamp and the Barwon estuary.
Armstrong Creek Growth Area
The Armstrong Creek Growth Area is a southern extension to the urban growth boundary of the metropolitan area of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. It comprises parts of the localities of Grovedale and Marshall south of the Warrnambool railway line, and parts of the localities of Mount Duneed and Connewarre from some distance to the north of Lower Duneed Road and generally to the west of Barwon Heads Road.
Bellarine Wetlands Important Bird Area
The Bellarine Wetlands Important Bird Area comprises a group of wetland sites, with a collective area of 46 km, at the western end of the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, south-eastern Australia. The site is important for waterbirds and Orange-bellied Parrots.
