Amherst, Victoria
Amherst a town in Victoria, Australia is now located in what is known as the Shire of Central Goldfields, northwest of Talbot. The town's location now resembles an uneven paddock of some 10 acres, but has little showing of its startling and significant historical prevalence. The town began as a mining settlement which was referred to as Daisy Hill, or sometimes Daisy Hill Creek, and extended throughout the village.

Paddys Ranges State Park
Paddys Ranges State Park, near Maryborough, 170 kilometres northwest of Melbourne, Australia comprises 2,010 hectares of native vegetation. Gold mining and eucalyptus oil production within the park date back to the 1840s but have long closed down. The vegetation is primarily of Box-Ironbark forest, with prominent Golden Wattle and native orchids. Swift Parrots, Painted Honeyeaters, Wedge-tailed Eagles and Crested Bellbirds are all present. Camping and fires are permitted in designated areas.

The Shire of Talbot and Clunes was a local government area about 160 kilometres northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of 541.31 square kilometres, and existed from 1860 until 1994.
Talbot railway station
Talbot is a railway station in the township of Talbot, Victoria, Australia. It is no longer in use for rail purposes, the station building and platform now used as a plant nursery and small railway museum. A goods shed and crane also remain at this station. The extension of V/Line passenger services from Ballarat to Maryborough was announced in December 2008 as part of a $50 million project, but the State Government had stated that Creswick and Clunes would be the only intermediate stops.
Daisy Hill, Victoria
Daisy Hill a town in Victoria, Australia located in the Shire of Central Goldfields. The town began as a mining settlement, after a discovery of gold during the Gold Rush of 1853, the location became known as an extremely rich goldfield soon thereafter. Prior to this discovery, Daisy Hill had gained a particular notoriety, due to a gold rush in February 1849, that was based upon the claims made by on Thomas Chapman, a shepherd and former Parkhurst prison exile.
