Ballarat is a city located on the Yarrowee River and lower western plains of the Great Dividing Range in the state of Victoria, Australia, approximately 105 kilometres west-north-west of the state capital; Melbourne. With an estimated urban area population of just over 94,000 people, Ballarat is the third most populous urban area in the state. One of the Australia's most populated inland settlements, it is the most populous in the state and fifth in the country.

Art Gallery of Ballarat
Art Gallery of Ballarat is the oldest and largest regional art gallery in Australia. Established in 1884 as the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery by the citizens of Ballarat both the building and part of its collection is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and by the National Trust of Victoria. The gallery is notable as the home, since 1895, of the original Eureka Flag and houses major collections covering the history of Australian art from the early colonial period to the present day.

107.9 ABC Ballarat, callsign 3CRR, is an ABC Local Radio station in Ballarat, Victoria. ABC Ballarat is one of the newest stations in the network, opened on June 30, 2003. The station is the largest regional ABC station in Victoria and serves Ballarat, Ararat and Daylesford, as well as parts of south-west Victoria including Hamilton, Port Fairy, and Warrnambool through ABC South West Victoria.

The Post Office Gallery is an art gallery in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. The Former Ballarat Post Office is located on the corner of Sturt and Lydiard Streets. Classified by Heritage Victoria it was built during William Wardell's tenure as Inspector-General and Chief Architect of the Public Works Department. The Ballarat Post Office was the largest Victorian building of its kind outside the Melbourne General Post Office.

The borough covered an area of 7.61 square kilometres, and existed from 1864 until 1994. Sebastopol was incorporated as a borough on 1 October 1864. On 6 May 1994, it was abolished, and merged with the City of Ballaarat, Shire of Ballarat and parts of the Shires of Bungaree, Buninyong, Grenville and Ripon into the City of Ballarat.

Ballarat–Skipton Rail Trail
The Ballarat–Skipton Rail Trail in western Victoria, Australia, runs 53 kilometres along the old Skipton railway line from western Ballarat, southwest through Haddon, Smythesdale and Pittong to Skipton. The trail was in poor condition for many years before being upgraded and resurfaced in 2008, at a cost of $700,000, funded in roughly equal measure by local, state and federal government. The new surface is "compacted granitic sand".

It is one of the earliest planned suburbs of Ballarat following the gold rush. It is a relatively small area bounded by the Mildura Railway Line to the west, the Serviceton Railway Line to the south, Havelock Street to the east and Howitt Street to the north and is primarily residential.
Golden Point, Victoria
Golden Point is a suburb of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia located south-east of the CBD. It is the oldest settlement in Greater Ballarat. Gold was discovered at Poverty Point on 21 August 1851 by James Dunlop and James Reagan, sparking the Ballarat gold rush. Golden Point was the site of what was known as the Ballarat diggings, and for at least a decade the focal point of the original Ballarat township was Main Street. At the 2006 census, Golden Point had a population of 2,147.
