Mackintosh Power Station

Mackintosh Power Station is a hydroelectric power station at Lake Mackintosh, West Coast Tasmania, Australia. Mackintosh has one turbine, with a generating capacity of 79.9MW of electricity. Mackintosh was constructed as a part of the Pieman River Power Development, between 1974 and 1987. The water discharged from Mackintosh flows into Lake Rosebery.

Lake Rosebery (Tasmania)

Lake Rosebery is a lake created by the damming of the Pieman River West Coast, Tasmania. It has the former Hydro Tasmania construction village at Tullah, Tasmania on its shores, and it also has the diverted Emu Bay Railway line adjacent as well. The Wee Georgie Wood Railway line runs close to the lake. Feeder rivers include the dammed Mackintosh and Murchison rivers.

Sophia River

Sophia River is a minor feeder into Lake Mackintosh and the supply for the Mackintosh Power Station on the West Coast of the Australian State of Tasmania. It joins the lake on the east side, near the south end. The Sophia Tunnel feeder from Murchison Dam has its outlet near Sophia River. There is also a Sophia Adit, a small tunnel for maintaining the Sophia Tunnel. Nearby Sophia Peak and Sophia Street in the town of Tullah share names with it, as does Sophia Point, near the town of Strahan.
