Mount Wellington (Tasmania)
Mount Wellington is a mountain on whose foothills is built much of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is often referred to simply as 'the Mountain' by the residents of Hobart, and it rises to 1,271 metres AHD over the city. It is frequently snow covered, sometimes even in summer and the lower slopes are thickly forested, but criss-crossed by many walking tracks and a few fire trails. There is also a sealed but narrow road to the summit, about 22 kilometres travel from the city.
Kingston, Tasmania
Kingston is a township and region on the outskirts of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Nestled 15 km south of the city between and around several hills, Kingston is the council seat of its wider municipality, the Kingborough Council, and today serves as the gateway between Hobart and the D'Entrecasteaux Channel region, which meets the Derwent River nearby. It is one of the fastest growing regions in Tasmania.
Margate, Tasmania
Margate is a small seaside town on the Channel Highway between North-West Bay and the Snug Tiers, 7 kilometres south of Kingston in Tasmania, Australia. At the 2006 census, Margate had a population of 1,368. Although more people live in the immediate region around the town. Margate is part of the Kingborough Council and is a frequent 'pit-stop' for those travelling south towards Snug, Kettering or Bruny Island. Vineyards, grazing fields and stands of trees surround the town and its approaches.
Kingborough Council
The Kingborough Council or Municipality of Kingborough is a local government area of Tasmania, just to the south of Hobart, Tasmania. It includes the Hobart satellite town of Kingston and its surrounding suburbs, as well as several surrounding towns including Kettering, Margate, and Snug. It also includes the whole of Bruny Island.
Cascade Brewery
Cascade Brewery is the oldest continually operating brewery in Australia. It is based in South Hobart, Tasmania. The Cascade estate (originally a saw milling operation) was founded beside the clean water of the Hobart Rivulet in 1824 by Peter Degraves, an entrepreneur who emigrated from England. In 1826 charges were laid against Degraves for debt and he was taken into custody until 1831. In 1832 Peter Degraves built a Brewery on his property. It is now owned by Foster's Group.
Fern Tree, Tasmania
Fern Tree (at 450 metres), is Tasmania's highest community of any size. The name Fern Tree is adapted from the common name of the plant Dicksonia antarctica (Tasmanian Tree Fern) which grows abundantly in the area. Set beneath Mount Wellington, whose summit is at 1270 metres above sea level, Fern Tree is 13 km by road from Hobart's central business district.
Hobart College (Tasmania)
Hobart College is a senior secondary college located at Mount Nelson, in Hobart, Tasmania. In January 2009 it became the Hobart Campus of the Tasmanian Polytechnic and the Tasmanian Academy, formed as part of the Tasmania Tomorrow reforms, but the changes were reversed in 2011. Hobart College offers courses for Year 11 and 12 students studying for their Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) and Certificates for a wide range of careers.
Cascades Female Factory
The Cascades Female Factory, a former Australian workhouse for female convicts in the penal colony of Van Diemen's Land, is located in Hobart, Tasmania. Operational between 1828 and 1856, the factory is now one of the 11 sites that collectively comprise the Australian Convict Sites, listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO.

Channel Court Shopping Centre
Channel Court is a sub regional shopping centre located on the Channel Highway, Kingston, Tasmania. For many years the shopping centre was considered very small and inadequate to the needs of the local population. However, since being Purchased by the Behrakis Group in June of 2004 the centre has undergone a complete transformation.

Kingston High School is a co-educational high school in Kingston, Tasmania. The school teaches students in grades 7-10 and currently has approximately 650 students enrolled. Tolmans Hill, Tasmania
Tolmans Hill is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is likely to be the last large scale greenfield suburban development to take place within Hobart city. At the 2011 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 490. There was much controversy when the Tolmans Hill development was first announced as planning permits were not widely made available to the public.
Dynnyrne, Tasmania
Dynnyrne is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. It is situated in the hills south-west of the city, surrounded by the suburbs of Sandy Bay, South Hobart and Tolmans Hill. Dynnyrne is Tasmania's second most affluent suburb according to documents released by the Australian Taxation Office. The postal code for Dynnyrne is 7005 which is shared with Sandy Bay. Many houses situated in Dynnyrne were constructed in the 1990s. Many parts of Dynnyrne have extensive views over the Derwent River.

Firthside is a neighbourhood within the suburb of Kingston, in the greater Hobart area, capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is located on the northern edge of the Kingston urban area. Firthside offers all the conveniences of Kingston without the traffic due to the easy access to/from the Southern Outlet. The Firthside area was originally settled by Dutch migrants.
Maranoa Heights, Tasmania
Maranoa Heights is a residential neighbourhood of the suburb of Kingston in the greater Hobart area of Tasmania, Australia. It is largely within the southern part of the area contained by the B68 Channel Highway, the C628 Roslyn Avenue and Algona Road. Maranoa Heights contains large areas of recreational woodland accessed by walking tracks and overlooks the coastal suburbs of Kingston Beach and Blackmans Bay. Maranoa Heights is home to the Boronia Hill Flora Track.
Huntingfield, Tasmania
Huntingfield is a suburb of the greater Hobart area, capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is just south of Kingston. The area is fairly new, with most homes being less than ten years old. Vodafone's Tasmanian call centre is located in Huntingfield, as is Tarremah Steiner School and Kingborough Family Church. McDougalls Power Equipment, the states largest Husqvarna dealer, is also located here.
Howden, Tasmania
Howden is a small, relatively isolated community on the shore of North West Bay in Tasmania Australia. Nestled between the majorly-developing township of Kingston and the smaller Margate, it verges on bushland but is only a half-hour drive away from Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania. Due to the recent housing boom, Howden's population has increased greatly, with the addition of new roads and development of properties.

Ridgeway, Tasmania
Ridgeway is located south of Dynnyrne and can be accessed by Waterworks Road and Ridgeway Road from Dynnyrne, or via Chimney Pot Hill Road from Fern Tree. In Ridgeway there are two plant nurseries, and a small number of homes. Prior to the 1967 bushfires Ridgeway was a market garden area with its own school and church. There also used to be another nursery next to Plants Of Tasmania.
Algona Road
Algona Road is a major link road, connecting the residents of Blackmans Bay to Kingston in Southern Tasmania, Australia. The road was constructed in 1986 as a Two lane road, with provision for a second carriageway when needed. A Roundabout was installed on the Junction to the Channel Highway in 1993 to address safety issues. The proposed Kingston Bypass will connect Algona Road to the Southern Outlet.
Kingston Interchange
The Kingston Intechange is a roundabout interchange which connects the Southern Outlet with the Huon Highway and the Channel Highway at Kingston, within the greater area of Hobart, Tasmania. The Kingston Interchange has recently been upgraded to address safety problems associated with right-turn movements at the interchange.
Calvin Christian School (Kingston, Tasmania)
Calvin Christian School is a coeducational, independent Kindergarten to Year 12 Christian school located just 12 kilometres south of Hobart, Tasmania in Kingston, at the head of the picturesque D’Entrecasteaux Channel and the Huon Valley. It is part of Christian Schools of Tasmania, a network of five schools around Hobart. It is owned and managed by an association, whose members are parents and past parents of students.

Kingborough Sports Centre
The Kingborough Sports Centre is a multi-purpose sports venue located in the southern Hobart suburb of Kingston. The centre was opened on 19 May 1979 and since opening has become a vital part of the Kingborough Community. After the centre was opened it became the area's main venue for indoor sports such as volleyball, basketball and netball.
