Stirling, South Australia
Note: Stirling North is a different town, in the Mid North of South Australia. Stirling (sometimes called Stirling East) is an affluent town located in the Adelaide Hills. It is administered by the Adelaide Hills Council. Its population is about 2500, though the town has largely merged with neighbouring townships such as Crafers and Aldgate. Other nearby towns are Heathfield and Bridgewater.
Aldgate, South Australia
Aldgate is a South Australian town located 21 kilometres south-east of Adelaide, in the Adelaide Hills. The town of Aldgate was supposedly named in 1882 after the local hotel the Aldgate Pump, which was named by Richard D. Hawkins, who had additionally opened the nearby Crafers Inn. The hotel was named after the pump he had installed outside, and Aldgate in London, England, which is an Old English derivation of old gate.

Heathfield is an exclusive township in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia near Stirling. It is home to Heathfield High School, Heathfield Primary School, Heathfield Oval, the Heathfield Waste Depot, Heathfield General Store, Mount Lofty Sand and Metal, Masonic homes (retirement Village), Nirvana Farm (multi award winning biodynamic farm) and Chris Dutton Subaru, along with numerous walking trails. Heathfield is also located within close proximity to Mount Lofty Ranges.
Mount Lofty railway station
Mount Lofty Railway Station is a railway station in South Australia, on the former Adelaide-Bridgewater railway line, located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Stirling. The station opened in 1883 and it is located 31.0 km (19m41c) by rail from the Adelaide Railway Station. It is the highest railway station between Adelaide and Melbourne. Two platforms were provided. The north or 'Down' platform is 125.0 metres long and the south or 'Up' platform is 103.6 metres long.

It was located 34.5 km by railway from Adelaide Railway Station. This station was very similar to Blackwood; the station building and shelter was the same.
Madurta railway station
Madurta railway station was 33.8 km (21m18ch) by rail from Adelaide, South Australia, on the now closed Bridgewater line. The station was located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Aldgate, east of the Cricklewood Road level crossing, which is at the intersection of Cricklewood Road, Milan Terrace and Madurta Avenue Heathfield. Facilities consisted of a 67.1 metre long platform and a shelter shed.
Heathfield railway station, Adelaide
Heathfield railway station was located on the now closed Bridgewater line 33.0 km (20m42ch) by rail from Adelaide, South Australia. Facilities consisted of an 85.3 metre long platform and a shelter. The station was located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Heathfield, at the north of the end of Keithley Road, and south of Bogaduck Road, Aldgate. It was close to Heathfield High School and as a result was well patronised by the students.
Yantaringa railway station
Yantaringa railway station was located about 41 km by rail from Adelaide Railway Station. Yantaringa (which takes its name from an aboriginal word for "big lookout") was on the Melbourne-Adelaide railway in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Verdun, and is a few hundred metres to the east of the Yantaringa Tunnel. The station/siding opened in the late 19th century (c1883). In 1925 it became a stopping place for rail motors. The station/siding closed in 1964.
