Sunshine Coast, Queensland
The Sunshine Coast is an urban area in South East Queensland, north of the state capital of Brisbane on the Pacific Ocean coastline. Although it does not have a central business district, by population it ranks as the 10th largest metropolis in Australia and the third largest in Queensland.
Buderim
Buderim is an urban centre on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. It sits on a 180-metre mountain which overlooks the southern Sunshine Coast communities. The name "Buderim" is from the local Kabi Kabi Aboriginal word for the hairpin honeysuckle, (Badderam) Banksia spinulosa var. collina, which grew abundantly in the sandy country around the plateau.
Big Pineapple
The Big Pineapple is a tourist attraction on the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. It is 16 metre high and was originally opened on the 15 of August 1971. It is situated on a 165 hectare site. The Big Pineapple features two rides: One on a Nut Mobile, the other on a small train that takes passengers on a tour of the plantation and lets them optionally disembark at a small zoo situated on the property.
Bli Bli, Queensland
Bli Bli is a locality and hamlet on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. A few kilometres inland from the Maroochydore urban area, Bli Bli rises above the wetlands which were, for many years, the home of the Sunshine Coast sugar cane industry. Whilst this industry is all but gone, state government legislation ensures the wetlands will remain an undeveloped "Green Space" (See Qld Plan). At the 2006 census, Bli Bli had a population of 5,345.

Sunshine Plaza is a large regional shopping centre located in Maroochydore, Queensland. Major retailers included in the centre are Coles, Woolworths, Myer, Kmart, Target, Homeart, and a 12-screen Birch Carroll & Coyle cinema. The centre is managed by Lend Lease.
Avatar's Abode
Avatar's Abode is a 99-acre spiritual retreat about 115 km north of Brisbane, Australia dedicated to Meher Baba. The site has a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean to the east and over valleys, farmlands to the north and south and looks toward rolling blue hills to the west. By Meher Baba's wish, Avatar's Abode can never be sold, but must be kept as a place of pilgrimage.
Sunshine Coast Grammar School
The Sunshine Coast Grammar School is a private Christian school located in Forest Glen, a some-what rural town on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. The school has a student body of over 1200, from prep to grade 12. The school was established in 1997. At the summit of Kiels Mountain is Avatar's Abode, a 99-acre spiritual retreat dedicated to Meher Baba (1894-1969) who stayed there in 1958. Avatar's Abode is the oldest and longest-running Eastern retreat in Queensland. A large private school, Suncoast Christian College, and its associated Christian Outreach Centre is located by the juncture of the Kiels Mountain road and the old Bruce Highway.
Death of Daniel Morcombe
Daniel James Morcombe (19 December 1989 – c. 7 December 2003) was a 13-year-old Australian boy who was abducted from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, on 7 December 2003. In August 2011, Brett Peter Cowan, a former Sunshine Coast resident, was charged with Morcombe's murder. In the same month, DNA tests confirmed bones found in an area being searched by the SES under the guidance of the police were Morcombe's.

90.3 and 95.3 ABC Coast FM is an ABC Local Radio station based in Maroochydore. The station broadcasts to the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland. This includes the towns of Nambour, Caloundra, Noosa and Gympie. It was originally set-up to target the youth market and broadcast to the Sunshine Coast from a studio at 612 ABC Brisbane. Maroochy Waters is a waterfront residential estate located in Maroochydore adjacent to the Maroochy River in Queensland, Australia. Is one of the last canal projects to be built in Queensland with direct access to river system and Coral Sea. Sunshine Coast Region Council has an annual dredging program to replenish the sand beaches. The canals plus all infrastructure were built in 3 stages. 1. Late 1970's, 2. Mid 1980's, 3. Early 1990's.
