Jackson, Queensland
Jackson is a town in the Maranoa local government area in South West Queensland, Australia. The town was based around the rail industry. At the 2006 census, Jackson had a population of 171. Australia's largest onshore oil field is located at Jackson. The field was discovered in 1981 and contains 350 million barrels of oil, of which just under one third is recoverable.
