Beaudesert, Queensland
Beaudesert is a small town nestled in rolling hills, located on the Mount Lindesay Highway, some 74 km south of Brisbane in the Australian state of Queensland. The area sources its income predominantly from rural activities such as cropping, grazing and equine activities, as well as tourism. It boasts a racecourse, 50-metre swimming pool, public library, two gyms and mountain scenery. The town was settled in 1847 and has grown to a small, bustling centre.
Jimboomba
Jimboomba is a growing town of approximately 6,288 people, as recorded in the 2006 census, in the Logan City local government area, South East Queensland, Australia. It is situated on the Mount Lindesay Highway, 47 km south of Brisbane central business district. It has a large number of services, including an auxiliary/rural fire brigade and permanent ambulance service, a police station, domestic shopping, hotel, medical-dental services and primary schools.
Albert River (Queensland)
The Albert River is a river in South East Queensland, Australia. Its catchment lies within the Gold Coast and Beaudesert shires and covers an area of 782 square kilometres. The river provides drinking water for the town of Beaudesert. The river has two main tributaries which begin in the Lamington National Park. Downstream the river joins the Logan River 12 km from its mouth at Eagleby before entering Moreton Bay. The Albert River is a sub-catchment of Logan River.
County of Ward, Queensland
The County of Ward is a county located on the south-east corner of Queensland, Australia. Like all counties in Queensland, it is a non-functional administrative unit, that is used mainly for the purpose of registering land titles. Ward takes in the south-eastern corner of Queensland, and the main urbanised area within the county is the city of the Gold Coast. It also takes in the southern parts of the West Moreton region centred on Beaudesert and Boonah.
Canungra, Queensland
Canungra is a small picturesque rural township in South East Queensland, Australia. Its economy depends on tourism, being a popular destination for short drives from the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Canungra, also called the "Valley of the Owls", is situated in the Gold Coast hinterland, 35 kilometres west of the Gold Coast and 90 kilometres south of Brisbane. At the 2011 census, Canungra had a population of 746.
Beaudesert Shire
The Shire of Beaudesert was a local government area located in South East Queensland, Australia, stretching from the New South Wales border, along the Gold Coast hinterland to the urban fringes of the cities of Brisbane and Ipswich. The Shire covered an area of 2,854.3 square kilometres, and existed from 1879 until its abolition on 15 March 2008, following which it was split between Logan City and the new Scenic Rim Region.
Scenic Rim Region
The Scenic Rim Region is a local government area in West Moreton region of South East Queensland, Australia. Established in 2008, it was preceded by several previous local government areas with histories extending back to the early 1900s and beyond. It has an estimated operating budget of A$33 million.
Bromelton Offstream Storage
Bromelton Offstream Storage will be located near the Logan River at Brabazon Road, Gleneagle, and is scheduled for completion by March 2009. Bromelton Offstream Storage will have the capacity to deliver an additional 5,000ML/a of water, working in conjunction with Cedar Grove Weir and the proposed Wyaralong Dam to improve the reliability of the Logan River Water Supply Scheme in drought conditions.
Cedar Grove Weir
The $18.5 million Cedar Grove Weir is part of the Logan River system that also includes the Wyaralong Dam on Teviot Brook and the $39.5 million Bromelton Offstream Storage facility.
Wyaralong Dam
The Wyaralong Dam is a water project that was initiated by the Queensland Government in 2006 as a result of a prolonged drought which saw the catchment areas of South East Queensland's dams receive record low rain. Construction of the dam wall was completed prior to the 2010–2011 Queensland floods. On January 11, during the flood period, Logan City’s Mayor Pam Parker and Scenic Rim’s Mayor John Brent said they believed Logan had been spared a great deal of flood damage because of the dam.
Logan Village, Queensland
Logan Village is a suburb of Logan City, Queensland, Australia. Once part of the Shire of Beaudesert, Logan Village has now been included in Logan City and is a low density semi-rural suburb. The area has remained remote with few commercial or retail outlets. The Logan River passes through the middle of the suburb as does the disused railway from Bethania to Beaudesert and the Waterford-Tamborine Road.

Once a rural community, it is presently forming a low density residential suburb. Park Ridge South was officially gazetted as a suburb in 1991. Buccan does not have a formalised town centre or shopping facilities with its residents relying on Logan Village, Waterford and Beenleigh to access such services.
Stockleigh, Queensland
Stockleigh is a suburb of Logan City, Queensland, Australia. Once part of the Shire of Beaudesert, Stockleigh has now been included in Logan City and is a low density semi-rural locality with larger acreage blocks. When pioneer Will Elworthy settled in the district in 1863 the area to be known as Stockleigh was named after his birthplace in Devon, England.
Camp Cable
Camp Cable, Australia was a World War II army training base near Logan Village, Queensland, Australia. The base was first known as Camp Tamborine but renamed in honour of Sergeant Gerald O. Cable. Constructed in 1942 for the United States Army Forces in Australia (USAFIA), initially for the 32nd Infantry "Red Arrow" Division (United States) preparing for the New Guinea campaign, the base was occupied by various units during the war.
Yarrabilba, Queensland
Yarrabilba is a suburb of Logan City, Queensland, Australia. Before European settlement, which began around 1862, the land was occupied by the Wangerriburra Clan of the Yugambeh language group. The name Yarrabilba comes from the Wangerriburra/Bundjalung language for 'place of song'. A railway branch line passing through the area to Canungra operated from 1915 to 1955.
Mundoolun, Queensland
Mundoolun is a semi-rural suburb of Logan City, Queensland, Australia. The locality was one of the first pastoral runs in the Logan/Albert River catchment. Previously part of Beaudesert Shire, Mundoolun merged with Logan City in 2008. The name Mundoolun is generally attributed to mundoolgunn (various spellings, including mundulgunn), a place name for death adder in the Bundjalung language.
