Gatton, Queensland
Gatton is a town and the administrative centre of the Lockyer Valley local government area situated in the Lockyer Valley of South East Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 census, Gatton had a population of 5,295. The Gatton area was explored by Major Edmund Lockyer in 1825. A settlement known as Gatton was gazetted in 1855. The post office opened 1 January 1866, with Frederick Lloyd, a dairyman, as the first postmaster.
Lockyer Valley
The Lockyer Valley is an area of rich farmlands that lies to the west of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and east of Toowoomba. The Lockyer Valley is rated among the top ten most fertile farming areas in the world as mentioned in page 13 of the Lockyer Valley Community Recovery Plan 2011. The intensively cultivated area grows the most diverse range of commercial fruit and vegetables of any area in Australia and is often referred to as "South East Queensland's Salad Bowl".

Laidley is a town situated in the Lockyer Valley of South East Queensland, Australia. The township had a population of 2,858 in 2006 and lies 83 km west of Brisbane, the state capital. The local industry has been dominated by agriculture since the end of the 19th century. Laidley has long regarded itself as "Queensland's Country Garden". Fruit and vegetable production features prominently, with the majority of beetroot grown in Australia coming from the Laidley district.

Shire of Gatton
The Shire of Gatton was a local government area located in the Lockyer Valley region between the cities of Toowoomba and Ipswich, and about 90 kilometres west of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of 1,571.8 square kilometres, and existed from 1880 until its merger with the Shire of Laidley to form the Lockyer Valley Region on 15 March 2008.

Lockyer Valley Region
The Lockyer Valley Region is a local government area in the West Moreton region of South East Queensland, Australia, between the cities of Ipswich and Toowoomba. It was created in 2008 from a merger of the Shire of Gatton and the Shire of Laidley. It has an estimated operating budget of A$35m.
Atkinson Dam
Atkinson Dam was a natural lagoon near Lowood in Queensland, prior to the construction of the dam wall in 1970. It has a surface area of 550 ha and holds some 30,500 ML of water for irrigation purposes. The reservoir is one of a number of small dams built in the Lockyer Valley. The primary inflow is Buaraba Creek, a tributary of Lockyer Creek. The dam is connected to Seven Mile Lagoon via a 1.2 km channel. Facilities at the dam include two boat ramps, picnic tables and two caravan parks.
Bill Gunn Dam
Bill Gunn Dam, 1.5 km west of the town of Laidley in South East Queensland, was developed to increase the capacity of the existing Lake Dyer, a natural lake adjacent to Laidley Creek, a tributary of Lockyer Creek. The dam was named after the Australian politician Bill Gunn and is managed by SunWater. The 1,170 m long earthfill structure has a maximum height of 12 m and an overflow spillway which diverts excess water into Laidley Creek.
Lake Clarendon
Lake Clarendon is a reservoir located 10 km North East of Gatton in South East Queensland, Australia. The reservoir is one of a number of small dams built in the Lockyer Valley to supply water for irrigation. Completed in 1992, by mid 2006 the dam was empty due to drought conditions in Australia. In January 2011, the dam was over 80% full according to the Queensland Water Commission website.
Victoria Tunnel, Queensland
The Victoria Tunnel in Queensland is the oldest and longest railway tunnel in the state, built when the state was a separate colony. The tunnel is one of two built through the Little Liverpool Range on a section of narrow gauge railway from Grandchester to Gatton. The railway opened in June 1866. The tunnel has restricted clearances, which limits the size of rolling stock on the Queensland Railways network. It is 537 m long.

Faith Lutheran College, Redlands (often abbreviated as FLCR), Queensland, Australia, is an independent co-educational Lutheran primary and secondary school located on two campuses in Victoria Point (Junior School) and Thornlands (Middle and Senior School). The school currently educates students from years Prep to Year 12.
Forest Hill, Queensland
Forest Hill is a town in the Lockyer Valley region of south east Queensland, Australia. The town is in the Lockyer Valley Region local government area, 83 kilometres west of the state capital, Brisbane and 53 kilometres east of the regional centre of Toowoomba. At the 2006 census, Forest Hill had a population of 342. During the 2010–2011 Queensland floods, much of the population of Forest Hill was required to be evacuated by helicopter to nearby Gatton to avoid rapidly rising floodwaters.
County of Cavendish
The County of Cavendish is a county in Queensland, Australia. Like all counties in Queensland, it is a non-functional administrative unit, that is used mainly for the purpose of registering land titles. The county includes the northern part of the Toowoomba Region and the western part of the Somerset Region. The county was officially named and bounded by the Governor in Council on 7 March 1901 under the Land Act 1897.
Plainland
Plainland is a town situated in the Lockyer Valley of South East Queensland, Australia. The town lies 75 kilometres west of Brisbane, the state capital, along the Warrego Highway. At the 2006 census, Plainland had a population of 1,637. Plainland was settled by a dozen German families in 1878. The families were mostly from west Prussia. The community constructed a Lutheran church in 1884 which was replaced in 1897.
