Shire of Nebo
The Shire of Nebo is a local government area in north Queensland, Australia. It contains the towns of Coppabella, Glenden and the administrative centre, Nebo. Traditionally a rural shire, producing beef, sugar, sorghum and other grains, coal mining is now a major employer, with eight coal mines in the shire and capacity for a further five. The area now known as Nebo Shire was first explored by Europeans when Ludwig Leichhardt came in 1845.

Nebo is a small town in Queensland, Australia, located 100 km south-west of the city of Mackay on the Peak Downs Highway. At the 2006 census, Nebo had a population of 850. Pastoralists settled in the Nebo region as early as the 1860s.
