Surfers Paradise, Queensland
Surfers Paradise is a suburb within the local government area of Gold Coast City in Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 Census, Surfers Paradise had a population of 18,501. Colloquially known as 'Surfers', the suburb has many high-rise apartment buildings and a wide surf beach. The feature of the central business district is Cavill Mall, which runs through the shopping precinct.
Nerang River
The Nerang River is a river that begins in the McPherson Range in the Gold Coast hinterland and runs through Gold Coast City in South East Queensland, Australia. It starts in the Numinbah Valley on the New South Wales border and heads north, then east where it flows through Nerang and onto the Gold Coast Broadwater at Southport on the Gold Coast. The Nerang River catchment covers an area of 490 km², with it only covering 250 km.
Division of Moncrieff
The Division of Moncrieff is an Australian Electoral Division in Queensland. The division was created in 1984 and is named for Gladys Moncrieff, an Australian singer who resided in the area. Moncrieff is located in south east Queensland, and is based on the central portion of the Gold Coast, including Surfers Paradise. It has always been a very safe Liberal seat.

Jupiters Hotel and Casino is a casino and hotel located in the suburb of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. The casino, which was Queensland's first, is situated next to the Nerang River and is operated by Echo Entertainment Group. It is connected to the Oasis Shopping Centre via a monorail. One per cent of the casino's gross gaming revenue is deposited in the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund.

Carrara is a suburb of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia on the southern bank of the Nerang River. At the 2006 Census, Carrara had a population of 10,687. It is most known as being the home of Carrara Stadium (also known as Metricon Stadium), the purpose built cricket and Australian rules football ground where the Gold Coast Suns began playing matches in 2011, as well as the Carrara Markets. The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre located on the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Queensland was opened on 29 June 2004 at a cost of A$167 million and is linked by a covered walkway to Conrad Jupiters. The Centre caters for 10 to 6,000 people, specialising in all events from small meetings and gatherings to corporate and association conferences, national and international incentives, banquets, exhibitions, concerts and sporting and special events.
Surfers Paradise Transit Centre
The Surfers Paradise Transit Centre, at Surfers Paradise, is serviced directly by a variety of private coach operators, with several TransLink bus routes passing nearby, although not stopping at the station. It is on Beach Road and is close to Cavill Mall. It is in Zone 14 of the TransLink integrated public transport system.
Benowa, Queensland
Benowa is an affluent Gold Coast suburb west of Surfers Paradise. At the 2006 Census, Benowa had a population of 7,269. The name was originally derived from the aboriginal "Boonow", meaning red bloodwood. This word was later corrupted by European settlers in search of sugar cane growing on the shores of the Nerang River. The name was perpetualised in 1870 when a pioneer named Robert Muir used the name for his sugar plantation on the northern bank of the river.
Bundall, Queensland
Bundall is a suburb of the Gold Coast, west of Surfers Paradise and the Nerang River. At the 2006 Census, Bundall had a population of 4,102. Its name is from the Aboriginal word for a species of prickly vine. The locality was originally established by British landowner Edmund Henry Price in 1862. The northern boundary of the area runs from the southern Nerang Riverbank to the Gold Coasts Arts Centre. It then continues south, bordering the present day Village High Road, alongside Benowa.

Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens
The Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, formerly known as the Rosser Park Regional Botanic Gardens, and before that simply Rosser Park, are located on Ashmore Road, Benowa, Gold Coast, Australia. The development of the master plan for the botanic gardens involved more than 18 months' investigation, site analysis and community consultation. The plan was adopted by Gold Coast City in 2002 and the first plantings took place in 2003.

Clear Island Waters is a suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 Census, Clear Island Waters had a population of 4,091. The suburb is a mid-to-high socioeconomic residential area surrounding the artificial canals of Clear Island Lake and Boobegan Creek.
Surfers Paradise International Raceway
Surfers Paradise International Raceway was a motor racing complex at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The circuit was designed and built by Keith Williams, a motor racing enthusiast. It was located opposite the Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens at Carrara. The complex included a dragstrip along the main straight, with a very fast right-hander under a Dunlop Bridge leading to a tight corner that turned the track back to a medium-length straight.

Its baseball facilities are home to the Surfers Paradise Baseball Club, current premiers of the Greater Brisbane League. The adjacent oval is home to the Surfers Paradise-Benowa Cricket Club and Surfers Paradise Australian Football Club, which plays in the QAFL.
