Innisfail, Queensland
Innisfail is a town located in the far north of the state of Queensland, Australia, which until 1910 was known as Geraldton. It is the major township of the Cassowary Coast and is well renowned for its sugar and banana industries, as well as for being one of Australia's wettest towns. In March 2006 Innisfail gained worldwide attention when severe Tropical Cyclone Larry passed over causing extensive damage.
Jessie Island
Jessie Island is about 80 km north of Dunk Island and east of the Cowley Beach Training area and north of the South Barnard Islands. Jessie Island is north of Kent Island and is part of the North Barnard Islands. It is around 3 hectares or 0.03 square km in size. This island is protected by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection due to the migratory birds that rest on the island. Jessie Island is a popular kayaking location and there have been sightings of Humpback whales.
Lindquist Island
Lindquist Island is about 90 km north of Dunk Island and east of the Cowley Beach Training area near Double Point and north of the South Barnard Islands. It is around 7 hectares or 0.07 square km in size. Lindquist Island is part of the North Barnard Islands. This island is protected by the EPA Queensland in that migratory birds rest here. The island is also a site for popular tourist kayaking and there have been sightings of Humpback whales.

The Sisters is about 25 kilometres north of Innisfail in Ella Bay adjacent to the Ella Bay National Park. The sisters are a rock formation forming an island.
Josephine Falls
Josephine Falls are located at the foot of the southern face of Mount Bartle Frere in the Wooroonooran National Park, in Queensland, Australia. The falls are a popular recreation site among locals as the water flows over a large rock to form a natural waterslide. Josephine Falls are located on Josephine Creek, a tributary of the Russell River. Accessed by sealed road just off the Bruce Highway between Babinda and Innisfail.
Stephens Island (Great Barrier Reef)
Stephens Island is about 40 km north of Dunk Island. With nearby Sisters Island it forms the South Barnard Islands Group, which is protected within the Barnard Island Group National Park. It is a popular site for tourist kayaking. The island is part of the South Barnard Islands Important Bird Area, identified as such by BirdLife International because of its importance as a breeding site for terns.
Shire of Johnstone
The Shire of Johnstone was a local government area of Queensland. It was located on the Coral Sea coast about 90 kilometres south of the city of Cairns. The shire, administered from the town of Innisfail, covered an area of 1,639.1 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1881 until 2008, when it amalgamated with the Shire of Cardwell to form the Cassowary Coast Region. The Mamu tribal group are the traditional owners of much of the land in the shire.
Mourilyan, Queensland
Mourilyan is a town in Queensland, Australia. The town is located 8 kilometres south of Innisfail on the Bruce Highway. It was established around the Mourilyan sugar mill which provided much of the employment in the area until its destruction during Cyclone Larry on 20 March 2006. At the 2006 census, Mourilyan had a population of 424. Mourilyan's main attraction is the Australian Sugar Industry Museum, which contains several relics from North Queensland's extensive sugar farming history.

Mundoo, Queensland
Mundoo is a locality in the far north of the state of Queensland, Australia. The locality is immediately to the south of the regional centre of Innisfail. At the 2006 census, Mundoo and the surrounding area had a population of 121. The main feature of the town is the Innisfail Aerodrome which overshadows most buildings within the community. Mundoo State School has around 100 students.
Innisfail Courthouse
Innisfail Courthouse is located at 10 Edith Street, Innisfail in Queensland, Australia. The current courthouse is a two-storeyed brick building with a corrugated-iron roof. It is the town’s third courthouse. It was designed in the inter-war classical style. The courthouse is included on both the Register of the National Estate and the Queensland Heritage Register.
Innisfail State High School
Innisfail State High School is one of two high schools situated in Innisfail, Queensland, Australia The school has students from Year 8 to Year 12. The school was established in the 1950s and its motto is 'Honor Et Labore' which means "Honor and Labour". 2009 marks the final year of ISHS as the school will be moving across Innisfail under the name Innisfail State College
Johnstone River
The Johnstone River is a river in North Queensland, Australia. The river has two main branches called the North Johnstone River and the South Johnstone River. The town of Innisfail is the largest settlement in the catchment and is built on the banks of the lower Johnstone River where the two branches split. Other towns in the catchment include Millaa Millaa and Malanda.
Innisfail State College
Innisfail State College is a combined secondary school and TAFE facility which opened in 2010, replacing Innisfail State High School and the Innisfail TAFE in Innisfail, Queensland. It will use existing TAFE buildings as well as new buildings that have been recently built.
South Barnard Islands Important Bird Area
The South Barnard Islands Important Bird Area comprises a group of two small islands and a sand islet, with a combined area of 15 ha, on the inner Great Barrier Reef, Far North Queensland, Australia. The group lies about 6 km off the coast and 26 km south-east of Innisfail and is protected within the Barnard Island Group National Park. It is an important breeding site for terns.
Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area
The Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area comprises a disjunct 521 km stretch of coastal and subcoastal land in tropical Far North Queensland, Australia. It extends from just south of Cairns in the north for about 150 km to Cardwell in the south. It is important for the conservation of lowland rainforest birds, especially Southern Cassowaries.
Etty Bay
Etty Bay is a bay of the Pacific Ocean and a 700 metres long beach in the far north of the Australian state of Queensland. The beach is 15 kilometres by road from the township of Innisfail, 20 minutes drive from Paronella Park and 7 kilometres from the Bruce Highway. The final kilometre of the route is a scenic drive climbing 100 metres over the Moresby Range before descending into a picturesque bay. The Bay has a Surf Lifesaving Club and a small caravan park.
Innisfail railway station
Innisfail is a railway station on the North Coast railway line, Queensland. It is serviced by several Queensland Rail passenger trains, including the Tilt Train.
