Calamvale is a suburb on the south side of the city of Brisbane, Australia. A relatively large suburb, it adjoins Stretton, Parkinson, Sunnybank Hills, Acacia Ridge, Algester and Drewvale. It is 18 kilometres from the Brisbane central business district. It is the most populated suburb in the greater Brisbane area.
Algester, Queensland
Algester is an outer suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is 18 kilometres south-west of the central business district. Algester was heavily developed from the mid 1970s and has also seen considerable recent development. It forms part of the Brisbane Agricultural Reserve, which once covered a large area of southern Brisbane. The suburb's name is a corruption of the name of the English town of "Alcester".
Division of Rankin
The Division of Rankin is an Australian Electoral Division in Queensland. The division was created in 1984 and is named for Annabelle Rankin, the first Queensland woman elected to the Senate. In its original form, Rankin covered the Gold Coast hinterland including Lamington National Park and the major town of Beaudesert as well as some outer metropolitan areas of Brisbane. In this situation it was a marginal seat held by the Labor party.

Larapinta means "flowing water" and was so named because the north and west of the suburb is bounded by Oxley Creek.

The name Doolandella, or Dulandella as expressed by Aborigines, refers to the Geebung tree, a broad leaved shrub with yellow fruit which grows in the area. In 2004, a total of 70 houses with a population of 255 was recorded in the suburb.
