Dapto, New South Wales
Dapto is a southern suburb of Wollongong in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia, located on the western side of Lake Illawarra and covering an area 7.15 square kilometres in size. According to the 2006 ABS Census, the suburb currently has a total population of 10,480.
Mount Kembla
Mount Kembla is a mountain in New South Wales, Australia, as well a semi-rural township of Wollongong, which gets its name from the mountain. Kembla is an Aboriginal word meaning "plenty of game". It is a coal mining area, notable for the Mount Kembla Mine disaster of 1902 in which 96 people lost their lives.
Unanderra, New South Wales
Unanderra is a suburb of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia. It is located approximately 10 km south-west of the Wollongong CBD. It is bordered to the west by Farmborough, Cordeaux Heights and Farmborough Heights in the Mount Kembla foothills, the north by Figtree, the east by Berkeley and Flagstaff Hill, site of the Nan Tien Temple, and the south by Kembla Grange. Unanderra is both a residential suburb, mostly to the west of the Princes Highway and industrial, to the east.
Horsley, New South Wales
Horsley is a suburb in Wollongong previously known as West Dapto. It is the location of the new Dapto Primary school and a community centre. This suburb has expanded since 1999 and contains many newly developed houses. As of the 2006 Census Night there were 6,798 persons counted in Horsley, 49.6% were males and 50.4% were females. Of the total population 1.5% were of Indigenous Origin. The previous Dapto primary school was moved here in 2004. Horsley has a small shop area.
Dapto railway station
Dapto is a CityRail railway station on the South Coast railway line. It serves the suburb of Dapto the southernmost suburb of Wollongong. The original Dapto railway station was constructed in 1880. In November 2000, it was added to the state heritage list. The station has three platforms; two side platforms and a dock platform for terminating trains. Many trains from Sydney terminate at this station, as well as a limited number of electric and diesel services from Kiama and Bomaderry.
Kembla Grange Racecourse railway station
Kembla Grange Racecourse (also known as Kembla Grange) is a CityRail railway station in Kembla Grange on the South Coast railway line. It serves the adjacent horse racing course. The station is on a single line section of the South Coast line, and has one side platform. The station is served only on weekends, and only by demand (an 'a' station). Until 2005 a limited number of trains previously serviced Kembla Grange on Monday to Fridays. The station is not near any housing.
Mount Murray (New South Wales)
Mount Murray is a mountain in New South Wales, Australia with an elevation of 780 metres above sea level. It is located six kilometres outside Robertson. The mountain is named after Sir George Murray.
Mount Nebo (New South Wales)
Mount Nebo is a tall hill, part of the Illawarra escarpment foothills on the edge of the suburban fringe of the city of Wollongong, New South Wales. Its summit (252 metres above sea level), is reached by a steep road (O'Brien's Road) from the suburb of Figtree. O'Brien's Road is unusual in that it was built as a private toll road in the early 19th century to connect Sydney and the Illawarra. O'Briens Road began at the locally famous fig tree that gave the name to Figtree.

Kanahooka High School is a comprehensive public high school located in the suburb of Kanahooka, 15 kilometres southwest of the city of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. Opening in 1974, the school's catchment area covers the southwestern part of the City of Wollongong and, as at Semester 2, 2007, the school has an enrolment of 616 students between Year 7 and Year 12.
Cordeaux Heights, New South Wales
Cordeaux Heights is a suburb in the city of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on the eastern foothills of Mount Kembla as is its southern neighbour Farmborough Heights. Its northern boundary of housing is along Cordeaux Road which goes to Mount Kembla Village. Cordeaux Heights has a few shops.
Macquarie Pass
Macquarie Pass is a 8 kilometre long section of the Illawarra Highway passing through Macquarie Pass National Park. It was opened in 1898. Macquarie Pass links the Southern Highland town of Robertson to the coastal town of Albion Park, descending the Illawarra Escarpment via a very narrow bitumen roadway, which has several single lane sections, and for the most part is two lanes with double "no overtaking" lines. It is in the Shellharbour LGA.
Kembla Heights, New South Wales
Kembla Heights is a village suburb of Wollongong, New South Wales. It is situated on Harry Graham Drive which is part of a tourist route and runs along the Illawarra Escarpment for a distance between Mount Kembla and Mount Keira. The Dendrobium Colliery (Illawara Coal, BHP) is located in this suburb.
Farmborough Heights, New South Wales
Farmborough Heights is a southern, medium-high wealth suburb in the city of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated to the west of Unanderra in the foothills of Mount Kembla. The suburb mainly consists of separate residential dwellings, but also has a general store and a take away. The take away and many other stores were demolished in 2010 to make room for more housing. Farmborough Heights is situated on two ridges, both are the lesser slopes of Mount Kembla.

Dapto High School
Dapto High School is a high school located in Dapto, New South Wales, Australia. It was opened in 1958 and has around 935 students enrolled. The current principal is Mr Andrew FitzSimons. The high school celebrated its 50th year of teaching by having a whole school photo taken containing every student and faculty member. The picture was featured on the cover of the Illawarra Mercury. The High School held its 50th anniversary celebrations in May 2008.

Koonawarra, or Exmouth, as it was then called, was one of the first five land grants located in the Illawarra. It was a grant of 1300 acres made to Richard Brooks in 1817. The grant faced Lake Illawarra and extended from Brook's Creek to Mullet Creek. Koonawarra was the aboriginal name for the area.

Burke River (New South Wales)
Burke River, a watercourse that is part of the Nepean River catchment, is located in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. The Burke River rises on the western slopes of Macquarie Pass, below Mount Murray, and flows generally to the north, before reaching its confluence with the Nepean River, as it is impounded by Lake Nepean. The river descends 312 metres over its 22 metres course. The river flows within the Water Supply Reserve of Greater Sydney.
