Kempsey, New South Wales
Kempsey is a town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia and is the council seat for Kempsey Shire. It is located 15 kilometres inland from the coast of the Pacific Ocean where the Pacific Highway and the North Coast railway line cross the Macleay River. It is roughly 345 kilometres north of Sydney.
Kempsey bus crash
The Kempsey bus crash occurred in Australia on 22 December 1989 when two full Denning Landseer tourist coaches, each travelling at 100km/h, collided head-on on the Pacific Highway at Clybucca Flat, 12 kilometres north of Kempsey, New South Wales. The collision killed both drivers instantly. The impact snapped seats from their anchor bolts. Seats and passengers were thrown about the vehicles with a terrific amount of force, which also trapped people and their luggage against the back of the bus.
Kempsey Shire
Kempsey Shire is a local government area in the mid north coast region of New South Wales, Australia. The Shire is located adjacent to the Pacific Highway and the North Coast railway line. Kempsey Shire was formed in 1976 by the amalgamation of the former Kempsey Municipality and the former Macleay Shire. At the last Australian Census, Kempsey Shire has a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people residing within its boundaries.

Kundabung, New South Wales
Kundabung is a locality on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The North Coast railway line passes through, and a station existed at the site between 1917 and 1974. At the 2006 census, Kundabung had a population of 586 people. The town's name is derived from an aboriginal meaning 'wild apples'. Kundabung is also the home town of the infamous walking team "The Bungers" (nothing to do with urban dictionary's definition mind you).

Macleay River Bridge
The Macleay River Bridge is a road bridge under construction over the Macleay River and its floodplain near the settlement of Frederickton, New South Wales, Australia. The bridge is part of the proposed Pacific Highway new alignment which bypasses Kempsey and Frederickton. The 3.2 kilometre long bridge will carry four lanes of traffic (two 3.5m wide traffic lanes in each direction). When completed it will be the longest road bridge in Australia.
Hastings-Macleay Important Bird Area
The Hastings-Macleay Important Bird Area is a 1148 km tract of land stretching for 100 km along the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, from Stuarts Point in the north to the Camden Haven River in the south. It is bounded on the west by the Pacific Highway. It combines ephemeral floodplain wetlands with coastal swamp forests. It is mostly cattle-grazed but contains large blocks of state forest, protected areas and tea-tree plantations.
Mid North Coast Correctional Centre
The Mid North Coast Correctional Centre, an Australian minimum to medium security prison for males and females, is located in Aldavilla, West Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia, 455 kilometres north of Sydney. The facility is operated by Corrective Services NSW, an agency of the Department of Attorney General and Justice, of the Government of New South Wales. The Centre accepts sentenced and unsentenced felons under New South Wales and/or Commonwealth legislation.

Frederickton is a town on the Macleay River, New South Wales, about 6 km NE by N of Kempsey and about 7 km W by S of Smithtown. It is roughly 436 kilometres north of Sydney.
