Olympic Highway
Olympic Highway is a New South Wales trunk road that links Cowra and Albury at a distance of 318 kilometres. It is designated National Route 41 and was formerly known simply as the Olympic Way. It was named as it was the path that the Olympic Torch took on its journey to Melbourne for the 1956 Summer Olympics. From Albury to Cootamundra it runs parallel with the Sydney–Melbourne railway line.

Junee Correctional Centre
Junee Correctional Centre, an Australian medium and minimum security prison for males, is located at Junee, New South Wales, 450 kilometres south-west of Sydney and 40 kilometres from Wagga Wagga. The first privately run correctional centre in NSW, Junee Correctional Centre opened on 19 March 1993 following an expression of interest process initiated by the Government of New South Wales.
Jail Break Inn Fire
The Jail Break Inn Fire was suspected to be started by a cigarette butt near the Jail Break Inn 8 km west of Junee, New South Wales Australia on New Years Day 2006. The fire was reported around mid afternoon but quickly spread due to temperatures into the mid to high 40's (°C), low humidity and gusty westerly winds. The fire closed Olympic Highway and the Main Southern Railway line. Seven houses were destroyed, and the Junee Round House was damaged by the fire.
