Byron Bay, New South Wales
Byron Bay is a beachside town located in the far-northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 772 kilometres north of Sydney and 165 kilometres south of Brisbane. Cape Byron, a headland adjacent to the town, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia. At the 2006 Census, the town had a permanent population of 4,981. The town is in turn the nucleus of Byron Shire, which has in excess of 28,000 residents. The local aboriginal name for the area is Cavvanbah.
Cape Byron
Cape Byron is the easternmost point of the mainland of Australia. It is located about 3 km northeast of the town of Byron Bay and projects into the Pacific Ocean. The cape was named by British explorer Captain James Cook on passing here on 15 May 1770, to honour British explorer John Byron who circumnavigated the globe in the HMS Dolphin from 1764 to 1766. The Cape is home to Cape Byron State Conservation Area.
Julian Rocks
'Julian Rocks is a pair of small islands, surrounded by marine reserve 2.5 kilometers offshore from Byron Bay. According to a story from the Bundjalung people, a jealous husband threw his spear at the canoe of his wife and her lover. The canoe broke in two and sank to the bottom of the ocean. Only the back and the front of the boat stuck out of the water.

Byron Bay High School
Byron Bay High School is a public secondary school located on Broken Head Road, Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. The school site is designed in the shape of a nautilus shell. The school opened in 1987 and now has 795 students and 44 classrooms. The principal of the school is Peter King who began his position in 2010.
SS Wollongbar (1911)
Wollongbar was a 2,005 ton passenger steamship built by the Ailsa Shipbuilding Company, Troon in 1911 for the North Coast Steam Navigation Company.
MV Tassie III
MV Tassie III (S-77) was a 120 ton steel motor vessel, which was requisitioned by the United States Army Small Ships during the Second World War and was carrying 80 tons of condemned ammunition and was wrecked {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:-28.638795|153.613906|type:landmark_region:AU|||||| |primary |name= }} while sheltering at the jetty at Byron Bay on 9 June 1945. The salvage tug Tancred salvaged most of the ammunition from the wreck in 1946.
