Ashfield is a suburb in the inner-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Ashfield is about 9 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of the Municipality of Ashfield. The official name for the Ashfield Local Government Area was changed to Ashfield Council in November 2011. Ashfield's population is highly multicultural.

Ashfield railway station is located in the Sydney suburb of Ashfield and is on the Main Suburban railway line of the CityRail network. It has five platforms (two city bound, two outward bound, and one used as a turnback to the city). St John's Ashfield
St John the Baptist Anglican Church is an active Anglican church located between Alt and Bland Streets, Ashfield, a suburb of Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1840, on land donated by Elizabeth Underwood, the church building is the oldest authenticated surviving building in Ashfield, having been built at the time when subdivision increased the population density sufficiently to turn Ashfield into a town.

It is located within the Burwood Council district. Established in February 1884, Croydon is historically important as one of the first schools built after the Public Instruction Act of 1880. Bethlehem College, Ashfield
Bethlehem College is a high school for girls in Bland Street Ashfield, New South Wales originally founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity. Students are easily identifiable by the amethyst and navy school uniform - fondly known around the inner western suburbs of Sydney as "Ribena Berries". Bethlehem excels in their sport as well as academically. The Sisters of Charity ran the College until 1991, when it became a systemic Catholic School run by the Sydney Catholic Education Office.

The Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (PLC Sydney) is an independent, Presbyterian, day and boarding school for girls in Croydon, an inner-western suburb of Sydney, Australia. The school has a non-selective enrolment policy for all years but Year 11, and caters for approximately 1,250 girls from age four to age eighteen (Year 12), including 65 boarders. Students attend PLC from all regions of the greater metropolitan area, New South Wales, and overseas.
Pratten Park
Pratten Park is a sporting complex in the Sydney suburb of Ashfield It was officially opened on the 12th of September 1912 by the then NSW state Governor Frederic Thesiger. Pratten Park was named after Herbert Pratten a alderman and later Mayor of the Municipality of Ashfield. The Park is best known as the original home of the Western Suburbs Magpies rugby league team, who played there from 1912 to 1966 before moving west to Lidcombe Oval.
