Albury
Albury is a major regional city in New South Wales, Australia, located on the Hume Highway on the northern side of the Murray River. It is wholly within the boundaries of the City of Albury local government area. Albury has an urban population of 45,627 people. It is separated from its twin city in Victoria, Wodonga by the Murray River. Together the two cities form an urban area with a population of more than 80,000.
Lake Hume
Lake Hume is an artificial lake in Australia formed by the Hume Weir east of Albury-Wodonga on the Murray River just downstream of its junction with the Mitta River. The small towns of Tallangatta, Bonegilla and Bellbridge are located on the shores of Lake Hume. It is often referred to as the Hume Weir, only named Lake Hume in the mid-1980s.
Gerogery level crossing accident
The Gerogery level crossing accident was a vehicle-train crash that occurred at Bells Road on the Olympic Highway, where it crossed the Main Southern railway in Gerogery, New South Wales, Australia. The crash occurred on 27 January 2001 at 4.07pm and resulted in five fatalities in a car that was struck by a Melbourne-bound CountryLink XPT, or express passenger train, travelling at 160kmh. Although the train derailed in the impact, there were no deaths to the train passengers or crew.
Bellbridge, Victoria
Bellbridge is a small town in the state of Victoria. Overlooking the Lake Hume and located near the Bethanga Bridge, Bellbridge is a popular destination for local tourists, especially from the nearby towns of Albury and Wodonga who often come to the Weir to water ski. The local Hume Boat Club holds an annual get-together for water skiers from across Victoria. The township itself developed from farming land in the 1960's. At the 2006 census, Bellbridge had a population of 358.

Jindera
Jindera is a town in the South West Slopes part of the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The town is situated 19 kilometres north of the regional centre of Albury, in the Greater Hume Shire Local government area. At the 2006 census, Jindera had a population of 1,048 residents. Jindera's chief attraction is the Pioneer Museum, which is contained within an old store and home that belonged to the pioneering Wagner family.
Bowna
Bowna is a community in the South East part of the Riverina, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated by road, about 7 kilometres south west from Mullengandra and 18 kilometres east from Table Top. The former village of Bowna was inundated by the Hume Reservoir but the locality and community outside of the village still exist. Bowna Post Office opened on 1 May 1869 and closed in 1994.
