Australian National University
The Australian National University (ANU) is a university in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Established by an Act of the Parliament of Australia in 1946, it is the only Australian university to be established by Federal, rather than State or Territory, legislation. Centered at the Acton campus, the university comprises seven teaching and research colleges, several focused postgraduate research centres and three non-tertiary educational entities.

Acton is a suburb of Canberra, Australia. Acton covers an area west of the CBD, bordered by Black Mountain to the west and Lake Burley Griffin in the south. The Australian National University campus covers most of the suburb, though also located in Acton is the National Film and Sound Archive, a branch of the CSIRO and the National Museum of Australia. The population of Acton on census night 2006 was 1808 people, mostly students living at the Australian National University.

The Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) are located in Canberra and are administered by the Australian Government's Department of the Environment and Heritage. The botanic gardens are the largest living collection of native Australian flora, the mission of the ANBG is to study and promote Australia's flora. The gardens maintains a wide variety of botanical resources for researchers and cultivates native plants threatened in the wild.
Turner, Australian Capital Territory
Turner is a leafy early Canberra suburb, close to Canberra City and the Australian National University (located in the suburb of Acton). Turner is named after Sir George Turner, a Federalist, legislator and one of the founders of the Australian Constitution. He was a Premier of Victoria, and later Federal Treasurer under prime ministers Barton, Deakin and Reid. Streets in Turner are mostly named after writers, legislators and pioneers.
Australian Academy of Science
The Australian Academy of Science was founded in 1954 by a group of distinguished Australians, including Australian Fellows of the Royal Society of London. The first president was Sir Mark Oliphant. The Academy is modelled after the Royal Society and operates under a Royal Charter; as such it is an independent body, but has government endorsement. The Academy Secretariat is in Canberra, at the Shine Dome. The objectives of the Academy are to promote science through a range of activities.
Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory
The Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory is the superior court for the ACT. It has unlimited jurisdiction within the territory in civil matters (although it usually only hears matters involving more than A$250,000), and hears the most serious criminal matters. In the Australian court hierarchy it is one of 8 state and territory Supreme Courts having unlimited jurisdiction in their respective parts of Australia.

City Hill, Canberra
City Hill is a park located in Canberra, Australia on one of the points of the Parliamentary Triangle, a feature of Walter Burley Griffin's plan for the city. The park is surrounded by Vernon Circle, at the south end of Northbourne Avenue but the precinct extends to London Circuit and is an integral part of the city centre design. To the south of the hill Northbourne Avenue becomes Commonwealth Avenue, and further along is Commonwealth Avenue bridge. The hill was planted in 1921.
Burgmann College
Burgmann College is a residential college affiliated with the Australian National University in Canberra. Established in 1971, it is the only Australian college to combine undergraduate accommodation with a substantial postgraduate student body. It houses 351 students, roughly one-third of whom are postgraduates. Burgmann College is located inside the western corner of the campus, close to the waters of Lake Burley Griffin. The college is named after Ernest H.
Toad Hall (ANU)
Toad Hall is a residential hall in Australian National University, it was established in 1973. While primarily a Hall for post-graduate students, in 2010 Toad Hall has 24 under-graduate students of a total of 230 residents. It is located at the corner of Barry Drive and Kingsley Street, Acton. Sullivans Creek and the Drill Hall Gallery are nearby.
ANU Research School of Physics and Engineering
The Research School of Physics and Engineering (RSPE) was established with the creation of the Australian National University (ANU) in 1947. Located at the ANU's main campus in Canberra, the school is one of the four founding research schools in the ANU's Institute of Advanced Studies. As part of the Institute of Advanced Studies it is primarily a research school with limited interaction with the ANU's undergraduate students.

The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) is Australia’s audiovisual archive, responsible for developing, preserving, maintaining, promoting and providing access to a national collection of audiovisual materials and related items. The collection ranges from works created in the late nineteenth century when the recorded sound and film industries were in their infancy to those made in the present day.
John Curtin School of Medical Research
The John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCMSR) is a major biomedical research centre in Australia, and part of the Australian National University, Canberra. The school was founded in 1948, as a result of the vision of Australian Nobel Laureate Sir Howard Florey and Prime Minister John Curtin. The Nobel Prize-winning Peter C. Doherty conducted his award-winning research here, discovering the way T cells interact with the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) in antigen recognition.
ANU School of Music
The School of Music is a school in the Faculty of Arts of the Australian National University. It consists of four buildings, including the main School of Music building – which contains Llewellyn Hall – and the Peter Karmel Building. The School of Music's teaching encompasses performance tuition across all standard Western instruments and genres, voice, alongside musicianship and musicology and a strong interest in indigenous Australian musics.

The Australian National University Medical School (ANUMS) is a graduate medical school that received the Australian Medical Council (AMC) accreditation for the M.B. , B.S. program in November 2003. Under the leadership of the Foundation Dean, Professor Paul Gatenby, the first cohort of students commenced in February 2004. The current Dean of Medicine is Professor Nicholas Glasgow and Deputy Dean of Medicine Professor David Ellwood.

Comcare is a statutory authority of the Australian Federal Government established under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) and covered by the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997 (CAC Act). University House, Australian National University
University House at the Australian National University (ANU) is the oldest resident hall in ANU. It opened in 1954 for the faculty, staff, and postgraduate students of ANU. Traditional Oxbridge formal dinner has recently revived for its member students and faculty on every Wednesday night (so called "House Dinner") but the formality is considerably relaxed to its least degree. Currently, there are 60 doctoral students residing in its dormitory section.
