The Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, or Byurakan Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by the Armenian Academy of Sciences. It is located on the slope of Mount Aragats in the village of Byurakan in Armenia.

Parpi
Parpi is a village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Within the village is a 5th century church. The 5th to 6th century Armenian chronicler and historian Ghazar Parpetsi was born at Parpi. He is most prominent for writing a history of Armenia, History of Armenia, sometime in the early sixth century. Parpi is known to have had a brief visit during October 1734 by Abraham Kretatsi during the time while he was serving the Catholicos Abraham II.
