Durrës
Durrës is the second largest city of Albania located on the central Albanian coast, about 33 km west of the capital Tirana. It is one of the most ancient and economically significant cities of Albania. Durrës is situated at one of the narrower points of the Adriatic Sea, opposite the Italian ports of Bari and Brindisi . Aleksandër Moisiu University or officially Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës is the newest public academic institution of the Republic of Albania. The University is located in the ancient city of Durrës and has a branch in Peshkopi. It was inaugurated in 2006 and is using the American system of education, unlike the rest of the public universities in the country. More than 1,300 students started classes as of October 2, 2006.

The Port of Durrës is located at the north end of the Bay of Durrës, an extensive body of water between Kala e Turrës and Cape Durrës .
